VENDOR 2 VENDOR: BAYOU BOB’S 🐊

For our next stop on Vendor 2 Vendor, we headed over to @bayoubobsgatorshack

A tradition at the Minnesota State Fair for many - Deep Fried Alligator.

Bayou Bob’s is 29 years old this season with a party and new food planned for their 30th anniversary in 2027.

We tried the deep fried alligator and hush puppies dipped in our hot sauce for a little kick.

And of course, we had to ask. Is there a Bob?

That’s what we love about Vendor 2 Vendor.

Good food, good people, and getting to learn what makes each vendor unique.

This is Vendor 2 Vendor.

✨The most magical state fair yet ✨

I was laid off two weeks ago and what felt like something devastating turned into something magical. I met so many wonderful people, saw so many random acts of kindness, and was able to work with over 20 different businesses for content creation opportunities. When one door closes, another one opens. This year’s state fair healed a small piece of me.💗

A special thank you to @jessimports, @thehideawayspeakeasy, @bayoubobsgatorshack, and @locked_in_time_photobooth 💗💗

If I was a foodie…this would be my Minnesota State Fair review. 😂

We did things a little different this year and parked at the fair instead of taking the bus, just in case we got the call that baby was on his way. And honestly…parking that close was AMAZING. We may have started a new tradition.

First stop, coffee from Beans & Beignets. Then Fresh French Fries at 9am because fair rules don’t count. 😂 No line, and yes, we got the 32oz.

Next was Bayou Bob’s for gator, tots and lemonade. We also tried the Gator Sauté this year and OH MY GOSH…so good. Definitely a must try.

Then we found our friend Annie’s print in the Fine Arts Building, stopped at Paddle North, checked out the new Chevy SUVs and got our annual matching Chevy shirts.

Then we ran into Jen and Julia!! We ended up doing two fair firsts together…the Sky Ride and Ye Old Mill.

After that, Minnesota Mule at Ball Park Cafe, quilts, 4-H, then O’Gara’s for Irish Keg Tots and a Lingonberry Cider. Those tots are still one of our must-haves every year.

Once the girls finished at the Gator Stand, we met up for the gluten-free trifecta at Auntie M’s…corn dogs, mini donuts and cheese curds. If you’re GF, this stop is a MUST.

Then apple fries. Worth the wait. SO GOOD.

We finished with the animals, Miracle of Birth Center and one last lemonade for the drive home.

A whole lot of food, a whole lot of walking and such a fun State Fair day.

Now tell me…what did we miss that needs to be on our list next year?!
