FROM CONSTRUCTION WORK TO CO-OWNING A RESTAURANT

When Ukrainian newcomer Stanislav Shalniev arrived in Canada in December 2022, his first job was in construction — far from the restaurant industry.

A few years later, Stanislav returned to the industry and began organizing gatherings for Edmonton’s Ukrainian community. Today, he co-owns Bazaar with Dmytro Siniakov, a Ukrainian and Eastern European street-food restaurant in Edmonton.

From borshch and Ukrainian-style shawarma to hot dogs inspired by Ukrainian bazaars, the team’s goal is to create more than just a place to eat — a place with soul.

👉 Swipe through to read Stanislav’s story and learn more about Bazaar.
