6 years ago today Waylon Elsberry transcended this mortal plane. She was an incredible songwriter, performer, and lover of the arts. Her energy was unmatched and her excitement was infectious. We miss her so deeply every day, and we’re honored to play her music for you all. 🎸 We’ve included some sweet throwback pictures of Waylon and Danni driving to a show in Asheville (5) and mixing on Mark’s couch 🛋️ (12). Devon and Waylon were engaged to be wives (6) 🏳️‍🌈. The first thing I released as a solo 'artist' came out seven years ago today. I cherish all the memories I have attached to this thing: the writing of the songs, the recording sessions and collaboration with friends, the local shows and the ones that followed on the little UK tour, the people I met because of it, the list goes on. Thanks to everybody who was involved with 'Kind of Nice' and anyone who has listened. Hoping to share new music with y'all sooner than later. ❤️

Your bandmates are your family. It’s such a special bond and collective energy that’s truly hard to describe in words, but it ultimately comes down to love. In some weird and totally insane way, we all functioned together in that love for so long, and those memories and times were some of the best in my life. Waylon, you were such a big part of that experience. You made us laugh and cut the tension when it would get hot by being 1) the loudest person in the room with the sassiest mouth and 2) by saying/doing something extreme that would shake us out of our funk. You were so incredibly talented, and I thank you for lending that to our sound for so long. Thank you for letting me sing your awesome songs. Thanks for the knee slides on stage. Thanks for always helping me load my shit after shows so I could go work the merch. Thanks for always complimenting my outfits and telling me “you look real cool.” Thanks for always offering to help do whatever was needed to pull off the shows and not complaining about it. Thanks for that one time you got pulled over twice on 75 for driving like a maniac and somehow talked your way out of super speeder tickets TWICE. Only you could do that. Only you could do a lot of incredible things. Thanks for being you. You’ll be missed, Waylon. ❤️

We lost a real one today. One of my biggest supporters. The amazing thing about being an artist is your voice lives on, whether it be in physical art, written word, or music. I love you forever. ❤️💔
