Help Needed🚨 Share & repost to anyone who can help. The deafening silence caused by the glaring absence of corner flower vendors convincing us to buy from them, our local sugar artist & his 7 foot tower of cotton candy nowhere in sight, no chopping sounds from our fruta picada crafters, no esquites hitting the cup or the void of the raspador de hielo scratching to shave ice for raspado creations, taco smoke, construction drills & banter seem like far off ghosts & even ice cream truck tunes have screeched to a halt. The melodies of our hood muted due to polarizing fear, causing our community freelance artists & mobile entrepreneurs to flee. But they are more than labor, they are humans & space should be made to celebrate their entire lives. To every student who has reached out to say they’re terrified & their parents have stopped going to work. To every parent who messaged me that their child won’t be at school or the graduation…if you’re watching, you are missed & appreciated. Street vendors, you are a staple of our neighborhoods-a downright necessity. Things are off when you’re not here. Prayers are being sent to up to heaven for protection, change & for you to feel free🙏🏽We will get through this, we will weather the storm🧊☔️ Call to action: we need food & gift cards for families who have lost a breadwinner or are in need. We need you to nominate families who need help. We need food distributors to donate. We will not panic or lose our mind, but find ways to support & provide. Honored and Grateful❤️

Last night, I had the incredible privilege of receiving four awards from the Lynwood Partners Educational Foundation, City of Lynwood Mayor Rita Soto, Assembly Member Jose Solache, and Congresswoman Nanette Barragán. I am beyond grateful for this recognition and for the opportunity to serve my community through Helping Hands Coffee.

This journey has never been about me—it has always been about people. Coffee became more than just a drink; it became a bridge that connects, uplifts, and brings comfort to those who need it most. Through education, service, and collaboration, I’ve been blessed to turn a simple idea into something that impacts lives.

To anyone pursuing their passion: keep going. Your work, no matter how small it may seem, has the power to create lasting change. Find what you love, pursue it with purpose, and use it to uplift others. Success is not measured by accolades but by the lives you touch along the way.

Share & repost so all that would like to help, can🫶🏽We want to thank everyone as yesterday and today we’ve had an overwhelmingly generous response for donations🙏🏽 We will now collaborate with our amazing City of Lynwood & council members to host a large donation drive starting tomorrow at 9am for our neighbors encountering unimaginable loss and grief due to the LA fires 💙 You can drop off items at Bateman Hall on Friday & Saturday until 5pm. If you need to drop off later you can send me a message or @masteringhope 🛻💨 the donations will be delivered to trusted distribution centers helping affected families and firefighters/emergency responders. At this time many centers are not accepting clothes but we will alert you when they are needed. HAPPY WOMEN'S EQUALITY DAY!

August 26th marks the 52nd commemoration of Women's Equality Day and the 103rd anniversary of the women's suffrage movement's greatest victory in the fight for gender equality—granting women the right to vote following the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

It wouldn't be me if I didn't share a reel with all of you of the inspiring events I spearheaded for the City of Lynwood in honor of Women's History Month and Women's Right to Vote. Thank you to my former council colleagues and our Parks Department for always supporting my crazy ideas to make our events meaningful.

Good Housekeeping states that even though we've made great strides since women won the right to vote in 1920, we still have a long way to go toward full equality in the United States. That's why it's so important to recognize Women's Equality Day, which was first celebrated in 1973 after Congress designated August 26 to commemorate the 1920 certification of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution This holiday is intended to recognize the ongoing struggle for equal rights, and it's a great time to reflect, discuss, learn, and inspire each other to keep working toward that goal.

And just like having a say in who makes up our government, equal pay trickles down to all aspects of our lives. That includes women's ability to support themselves and their families, own real estate and other property, and live independent lives.

Today and every day is an important and meaningful day to think about how much women's rights matter.

Here's to all of the women whose shoulders we stand on, including the beautiful women from our very own community whom we've recently lost. On behalf of myself and women everywhere, thank you for sharing your strength with us.

The rest, rests on us.
