Greenshank.......

Its incredible how often, when photographing birds, you check your photos and find a branch or a leaf in the way of the bird...for once this time the bird was perfectly positioned between some reeds!

This long legged wader is currently taking part in migration, on its way to the Sahara, some birds do remain here in the UK but many will be spotted simply taking a pause on their journey from Russia or Scandinavian.

That Barn in the Peak District

I tend to share portrait pictures of this beautiful barn. Here’s 7 landscape versions in different conditions.

Which is your favourite?

Great Northern Diver.......

Fish supper anyone, it's Brill isn't it, literally🤣.

One of my most favourite birds, although I do say that a lot! A GND provided probably my most memorable bird moment to date whilst on an amazing @naturescotland day tour.

Standing on the side of Loch Na Keal on the unbeatable Isle of Mull, watching a stunning White Tailed Eagle fly over us no more than 40 ft up...it doesn't get much better...or so I thought...until it did, a Great Northern Diver called out from the loch. If you've never heard the haunting call of a GND please go and Google it!

If you are ever on Mull you have to go out with the Nature Scotland team, they are top guides.

By the way, this capture wasn't on Mull, it was in the less picturesque but still wonderful spot for winter bird spotting, and life watching, Newlyn harbour.

I was obsessed with Mam Tor when I began photography, it’s a great location. Haven’t been up there in years, I haven’t even see the red lines yet ….

Some memories never fade,
Some stories return with time,
A brother still carries a sister’s name,
Through halls where history quietly remains.
And beyond the words, one truth stays warm
Love remembers what time cannot erase.

One from last year at Ribblehead Viaduct in the Yorkshire Dales.

I’d gone out to photograph the Milky Way over the viaduct and managed to catch the light trail from a passing train at just the right moment.

This image ended up getting far more attention than I ever expected, eventually making its way into the national press.

A year on, it’s still one of my favourite images from Ribblehead, and a reminder that sometimes timing really is everything

Wren.......

➡️Swipe➡️

For such a tiny bird the song of a Wren certainly packs a punch.

From it's fast paced reel to it's shouty click it's a bird that I always think is like a Jack Russell behind a closed door...capable of producing a noise that sounds like it's coming from a much more fierce character than it actually is!

Padley Gorge - Peak District

Some nice conditions at Padley Gorge. A bit of mist amongst the trees. Could be a scene from Lord Of The Rings.

S e c r e t ~ L o n d o n 🤍 Do you know where you will find this pretty alley of shops in Lovely Little London?

It is a treasure trove of rare and beautiful stores.

This first beautiful store is the lovely ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’. It was opened in 2012 and sells Alice iconography, first edition books, rare illustrated editions and other unique objects. The store apparently also supplies all of the rare books for luxury London department store @fortnums .

Tell me if you know where to find it…

Lapwing.......

There's always one isn't there! Photographing this "Deceit" of Lapwings...that's the name for a flock of them...I noticed an incoming fly by from one.

It kindly obliged me with a sideways tilt flashing the white of it's belly.

Fact: Lapwings are nicknamed Peewits because of the sound they make when alarm calling!
