In 2010, Google launched the groundbreaking commercial Google Chrome Speed Tests to demonstrate raw browsing speed during a tech era saturated with meaningless software claims. Online audiences craved immediate, visible verification rather than invisible engineering metrics. Partnering with BBH New York and 1stAveMachine, the campaign pitted authentic, live-loading web pages directly against extreme physical events captured on ultra-slow-motion cameras. This clever laboratory setup turned an intangible digital utility into an entertaining physical thrill, positioning Google Chrome as an undeniably swift browsing companion built for the evolving digital age.

At first glance, it looks like something you probably shouldn’t be seeing on the streets of New York. Look again, and the cheeky visual reveal is much simpler: it’s just hands. Wet Ones’ “Just For Hands” campaign created with BBH USA, turns fingers, palms and knuckles into optical illusions to remind people what hand wipes are actually meant for. It was an absolute joy last night to see my dear friend @rosiearnold inducted into @TheOneClubforCreativity 2026 Hall of Fame at @capitalenyc 😍 When Rosie told me I could bring a guest, I felt it should be an ex-BBH-er who knew Rosie. It was lovely to reunite with my original @bbhusa ECD Ty Montague (I and he were Employees No 1 and 2 respectively at BBH US back in fall 1998). And it was wonderful to have @susancredle introduce Rosie - two women legends of our industry onstage together 💖 Congratulations Rosie, and the other inductees - Janet Champ @john_c_jay Caroline R Jones @joycekthomas Piyush Pandey @cloudwrangler + @apple for the Brand Hall of Fame 🙌

🛒 📸 & 📹: Jif #PuroMerca 🧡

CLIENT BRIEFS ARE GETTING BETTER. I’ve been exploring this on this week's episode with @mischiefusa @mrmulroy @bbhusa @alexjbooker and @wearedeutsch 's Ryan Lehr. My conclusion? Yes. More briefs are now being written by experienced planners working client-side. They have something agency planners often lack: access. Up, down and across the organisation. That access means deeper, more informed strategies that are already bought into before they reach the agency. Great for planning. But what does it mean for agency planners? This week's conversation reveals how the agency planner’s role is increasingly about knowledge of culture. We spoke about planners are digging “multiple shallow holes” rather than one or two deep strategic territories. Could it be that the deep holes are increasingly being dug for us? What does that mean for the future role of the agency planner? I’d love to hear your thoughts, agency or client-side. THREE CREATIVE LEADERS TALK STRATEGY When three of the most effective creative leaders in the U.S get together, you know it’s gonna be fun. @mischiefusa’s @mrmulroy @bbhusa @alexjbooker and @wearedeutsch Ryan Lehr shared some learnings from working on some of the most successful campaigns in the U.S. A couple of highlights... - Client briefs are getting better. Planners are now writing the briefs because they’ve become the client. - Planners are digging multiple shallow holes instead of deep ones. Might this be the result of having better briefs handed to them? - Practice simple two-step planning. 1. What are we trying to say? 2. What’s the most interesting way of saying it? Keep it simple. - The most expensive thing a brand can be is ignorable. This helps clients understand the stakes far better than before.
