Owner/Head Brewer - Brass Collar Brewing Co. What's not to love #NVK #AimLow #BrassDogs #HotDogSlinger

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Tomorrow is the day, FRUIT TRIP 2026 BABY! We are so excited to have y'all out for a great day celebrating fruit and the awesome people who make it drinkable, but we're even more excited to introduce the last round of folks who will be joining us!

@trophybrewing is the reason our Head Brewer @alexmakesbeerandthings moved to North Carolina and began working with local ingredients in beer. Their production location on Maywood Ave in Raleigh is directly next door to the NC State Farmers market and it was during morning walks there with @lesstewart that Alex had the chance to learn about the ebb and flow of produce through the seasons. @trophybrewing has always been a huge proponent of local farms and and early adopter of NC craft malt, and we were ecstatic to return to our "roots" for this collaboration: Blue Wibbon Wit, a Belgian-Style Wit Beer with Blackberries.

@fullsteambrewery & local favorite @jondreamsofweeheavy have been our besties since day 0. The first Eno River Beer ever brewed was a collaboration with them before we even opened - #FriendshipIsMagic✨ Fullsteam has always been a pioneer of NC Agriculture with a constant rotation of inspired beers with local and foraged ingredients and a dedication to sustainability in brewing. Our Brewer @reverdy3 got to go to his first collab (that he wasn't in charge of brewing) and help brew a Saison with Buckwheat, Honey from Fullsteams beehives at their RTP location, and local Peaches that we are calling, Honey Peach Saison.

You've heard us talk for years about our friends at @brasscollarbrewingco & have probably had several of the beers we've made with them here at #ERB . This time they are joining us and bringing some of their own beers with them. @bbisson27 will be bringing their Rhubarb Saison, made with locally grown rhubarb, in order to allow this delicious ingredient that is typically paired with fruit to take center stage.

We hope to see y'all out tomorrow! Open from til 10, @woodennickelfarms will be serving up grub from 12-3pm & @sister_lius_kitchen will be here from 3-10pm!

🚨NEW BEER ALERT🚨

THE HIGHEST POWER, 4.5%
English-Style Lager

Our most recent collaboration with @heydaybrewing was truly a special occasion. When I moved to Raleigh in 2018, I was taking a big risk. I came out to work for someone I’d only met a couple of times over the years, moved into an apartment I’d never seen before, to a city where I didn’t know anyone, and I threw myself into my work because it was the only familiar thing in this new world. During that time, I was fortunate enough to work with some of the kindest, hardest working, and most passionate people I’ve had the pleasure to know. We were coworkers, roommates, friends, and as we've drifted to other projects over the years, collaborators @bbisson27 moved up North and started @brasscollarbrewingco, @lancezacher has been leading breweries in the triangle for years, creating unique beers inspired by his culinary prowess, @austinfalconbrown has been managing production teams at well-known distributing breweries and is now working with Lance as he prepares to open up his own brewery. As life keeps us busy and pulls us in different directions, it can be hard to find time for us all to get together, but it’s almost always around brewing up something special.

The beer we brewed at @heydaybrewing on this most recent occasion is inspired by our love of traditional English styles and Lager beer. The Highest Power is the other beer your traditional English pub serves that isn’t “Ale,” and it’s brewed with time, attention, and friendship 🫶

🚨‼New Beer Alert‼🚨

FLOPHOUSE & SHOPPING SPREE

From the “Desk” of Head Brewer @alexmakesbeerandthings

Craft beer is a friendly business. This industry, built on collaboration, resource sharing, and raising the tide for all boats, is full of talented, kind people and is a great place to make friends. I’ve known @bbisson27 since 2018, when we were co-workers and roommates. In the years since then, we’ve remained fast friends and frequent collaborators, either in late-night phone calls helping one another diagnose issues in the brewery, the host of beers we’ve brewed together over the years, or in sharing advice and problem solving in the small part of our personal lives that have nothing to do with beer. So much of our individual approaches to beer, and life, have developed in concert, so I love our yearly collaborations because they feel almost like an extension of self.

This year, we did our first double collaboration brew-day, making two distinct beers in the same day: a West Coast IPA, Shopping Spree, and an English Pale Ale, Flophouse.

Flophouse, so named for some of the “rustic” places we’ve lived and stayed over the years, is a dry-hopped English Pale Ale made with Fuggle and Golding Hops and served on our Nitro tap. It pours smooth and creamy, with notes of sweet lemon peel and fresh black tea. It is a love letter to lower abv, crushable, “Pub Ales” and an extension of our shared obsession with English-Style beers.

Likewise, we have both been diving into West-Coast IPA, a style that lost a lot of traction due to the prominence of Hazy IPA, but has seen a huge resurgence in the last couple of years. We knew our grain bill, our ABV, and our bitterness target, and for the hops, I told Brody to walk through our extensive hop cooler and pick out anything he wanted. He landed on a mix of El Dorado, Mosaic, and Elani hops, giving the beer fun notes of Grapefruit and White Grape Juice with the dry body and present bitterness we love in a Westy.

If you’re ever in Philly, make sure to make a trip out to @brasscollarbrewingco and say hi to Brody @bbisson27 and @mikepaskew !
