Betsy is one of our dancers. She’s done what most dancers or companies typically don’t do

💪🏻 She started training with us via Move Without Limits months before an upcoming show/tour. And ongoing.

💬 The strategy I typically hear dancers have in prep for a new gig/show…you’re booked for a gig, you take classes to “get back in shape,” or rest before walking into rehearsal.

⏮️ But the “Pre-season” is when you build the capacity, strength, endurance, power, mobility that you’ll need access to during rehearsals.

💃🏻 Rehearsal is what I consider the equivalent of “in-season” in sports. Highest volume, highest intensity, minimal recovery time, multiple days per week. It’s typically not realistic to address strength or injury issues during this time.

🏋🏻‍♀️You need to have an improved physical capacity BEFORE in-season so we don’t run into issues before the show even starts. That’s what Betsy worked on

💭 In the creative process, we may not know what the choreography looks like. So we assume anything is possible. From jumping, lifting others, floor work at high efforts & duration.

So we need to prepare for those possibilities.

⭐️ Move Without Limits solves for this.

While accounting for your injury history, current movement capacity & required dance load, we program a plan specific to you.

Alongside other MWL members, you’ll train here at Reload with our PT/coach coaching you & adjusting the plan along the way based on how well you’re adapting to the training.

When you adapt, you improve. You’re improving in your capacity to dance without limits.

If you’ve ran in circles trying to play catch up with your body between shows, MWL can help you.

📩 DM me or email mona@reloadpt.com if you or your company is interested in this program.

Which Sinéad O'Connor song moves you the most? 🖤

It's the world premiere of The Surge: An Ode to Sinéad O'Connor tonight!

The cast of The Surge reflect on their favourite song to perform to by the legendary Irish artist.

Choreographed and directed by Sonya Tayeh (@sonyatayeh), The Surge is a meditation on voice, protest and the courage to live a life that defies the norm - set to the music and words of Sinéad O'Connor.

A Joyce Theater (@thejoycetheater) and Factory International production.
