Compact speakers, serious performance. 🔊 Inspired by a design found on @soundblab , these DIY speakers by @zackdove combine an industrial look with a carefully designed 2.5-way setup. The exposed compression driver and horn give them a distinctive appearance, while two compact 4-inch woofers handle the lower frequencies. The plywood cabinets are finished with hardwax oil, keeping the look clean and letting the material speak for itself. Components used in this build: • @dayton.audio TCP115-4 bass midwoofers (2 per speaker) • @bcspeakers DE250-8 compression driver • @bcspeakers ME20 horn The result is a compact bass-reflex design with a reported frequency response down to 42 Hz and a sensitivity of around 87 dB. A great example of how thoughtful driver selection and enclosure design can work together. 🔧 Thanks to @zackdove for sharing this build! I’m going to China 🇨🇳🤯! For the first time in my life I’m heading to the far east to attend #musicchina2026 in #shanghai 🤘 I’m gonna be at the @eminence_speaker booth several times every day but I’ll also film a nice vlog of the show.
