I’m excited to share that my new documentary feature MALL COUNTRY will premiere at this year’s DOC NYC on November 12 at SVA Theatre.

The film is about an Albanian immigrant named Leo Karruli who semi-accidentally purchased an enormous Western Pennsylvania shopping mall in an online auction he didn’t expect to win. We filmed for a year as he and a group of tenants and regulars tried their hand at saving The Johnstown Galleria with a total “anything goes” approach. It interweaves this story with archival interludes from the rise and fall of the most American structure on planet earth - the enclosed shopping mall.

I grew up in central NJ walking in circles around Bridgewater Commons Mall. I did not expect to spend so much of my 30s inside of a shopping mall, but such is life. The film rocks. Shout out to my friends who I made this with. Link in the bio.

Banijay Entertainment made its mark at @tiff_net this week… 🎬✨

From the world premieres of BD4’s Bleeding Hearts and @all3media_int’s 2.6 Seconds: Death in the Outback, to the North American premiere of @topkapifilms’ Coward, projects from across the group took centre stage.

Susanna Karttunen, creator of @banijayfinland’s upcoming comedy series Survival Sisters, also joined the “PERSPECTIVES: The Global Rise of Microdramas” panel, exploring how short-form content is reshaping the entertainment landscape.
