Graduation ft. me constantly squinting because of the sun + some of the people who got me through these past 4 years ❤️❤️❤️ . . On a real note, though, here are some actual thank yous: To the class of 2021: thank you for allowing me to find my place within this crazy world. I’m honored to be your graduation speaker and resident history nerd To Edison theatre: thank you for giving me a home and helping me find confidence in myself. I grew so much because of my time in this department, and I love everyone in it dearly To Edison choir: thank you for giving me endless joy and a constant relief from the stress of school. Singing with you all made my life better every. Single. Time. To my teachers (you know who you are): thank you for supporting me and believing in me, especially when I couldn’t do it myself To all my wonderful friends: you keep me sane, and I’m so grateful for you...whether it be IB biology study groups or gossip girl watch parties, I’m so glad to know such amazing people And finally, to the terrified 14 year old me who entered high school with crippling depression and doubted nearly every day that she could pull herself out of that hole: thank you. We did it. We are ok. In fact, we’re more than ok; we’re thrilled to begin this next chapter :)
