From big-budget special events to working under NDA with journalists, life is always an entertaining mix for Michael Beadle, the College of Communication and Education’s Distinguished Alumni, who visited campus on Monday.

Beadle is the senior director of public relations at Ubisoft. He spent time with students in JOUR 265: Survey of Public Relations, sharing his life as a PR professional for one of the biggest names in the gaming industry.

Students received a sizzle reel presentation of the wide range of activities needed to launch games, secure news media coverage, handle crisis events, and communicate Ubisoft news to interested gamers. Media training for Ubisoft spokespersons was a particular point of interest for students. They learned how spokespeople are selected, the range of training options, and the characteristics of strong spokespeople.

Special events were also a big highlight, with glimpses of launching games during New York Fashion Week and Comic Con, and recreating a space-age cantina for the preview event for Star Wars Outlaws.

Thanks so much, Beadle, for giving so much of your amazing energy to our students. J&PR alumnus Michael Beadle.

Thank you, Michael Beadle @bdljuce, for guest speaking to Tehama Group Communications yesterday and sharing your incredible journey in the public relations and gaming industries.

At lunch, Beadle spoke with TGC students about media training and his experiences working with people across the country. As the senior director of communications at @ubisoft, he has traveled the globe leading launch campaigns for some of the gaming industry’s most icnonic titles, including “The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask,” “Animal Crossing,” “Just Dance” and “Assassin’s Creed.” Despite his busy schedule, he remains deeply connected to the Chico State campus, frequently returning to give lectures and connect with students.

He emphasized the importance of building long-term relationships and networking with reporters and crafting key messages that resonate across audiences. Before joining Ubisoft, he worked at GolinHarris as a senior account executive and at Cohn & Wolfe as an account specialist.

As a proud Chico State alumnus, Beadle earned his B.A. in Journalism with an option in Public Relations and a minor in Human Resource Management. During his time on campus, he interned with Chico City Light Opera as a PR intern and performer, setting the foundation for a successful career in strategic communications.

Beadle offered valuable insight to aspiring PR professionals, reminding students that networking, adaptability and relationship-building are essential to long-term success in the industry.

Thank you again, Michael, for taking time from your busy schedule to connect with TGC and inspire the next generation of PR professionals.

18-year-old me would have never believed this:

Earlier this month, we kicked off #NBAAllStar weekend by hosting a VIP showcase that allowed players to check out the new #AssassinsCreedShadows before it releases worldwide on March 20. It was a dream come true to be on a team that had a chance to host an event like this during All-Star.

Thank you to Karl-Anthony Towns, Jaren Jackson Jr., Cameron Johnson, CJ Anderson, Deshaun Highler & Caden Davis for checking out this sneak peek! We hope you liked what you saw.

Also, thank you and congratulations to everyone who helped make this event possible. It was a great way to kick off All-Star Weekend!

PUNCH IT!!! @starwarsoutlaws has OFFICIALLY launched and leading this comms campaign was an incredible hyperspace jump I will never, ever forget! ✨

This campaign has taken us through 2 Ubisoft Forwards, 2 San Diego Comic-Cons, the biggest preview event Ubisoft has ever organized, a studio tour in Sweden, and so much more in-between. I'm so proud of everything the team has accomplished, especially the developers that have poured their passion for Star Wars and expertise with open world games into this title, and have a deep appreciation for the wonderful collaboration with Lucasfilm Games and Disney.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone enjoy this game now that it's available worldwide - welcome to the galaxy of opportunity! @lifeatubisoft

Happy @skullandbonesgame Launch Day!

In celebration of @Ubisoft’s newest game from @ubisoftsingapore, we partnered with Marshawn Lynch - @beastmode - last week, and he challenged some NFL fans to “Impress the Kingpin” and give their best pirate impression at his Beast Mode apparel store in Las Vegas! Those with the best impressions got to play Skull and Bones with Marshawn prior to its release.

Thank you to Marshawn, @beastmodebrand and @beastmode.productions for their hospitality! And congrats to everyone involved in making this day happen!
