Detroit Music Scene - meet @drewverdemusic I’ve seen him perform online and supported his music from afar during this musical journey… but seeing him perform live in person and weave a web of words through these lyrics was something else entirely. The breath control that musicians and specifically vocal ninjas of rap have to get through the words with articulation and still be able to flow so effortlessly.. I’m astounded. And an extra special shoutout to the producer of this song, the lovely and super talented Loreal of @thelcatalog She is so kind, super knowledgeable about hiphop, makes beats, mixes, produces, and also shines a light on local talent through her fun podcast. If you see her around town, do yourself a favor and say hello. You won’t be sorry. Detroit Music Scene - meet @bethalwayssings (Beth Griffith Manley) an amazing singer with a rich and soulful voice who I recently had the pleasure of hearing perform @tmoneygreen731 70th birthday and @hypedupsessions momentous 100th episode. What an honor to hear such a voice come and respect the legendary TMoney who is beloved by so many musicians as he gives so much to the music community. Beth is a well known and revered in the Detroit Music Scene but it was an honor for me to hear this national performer (who has sung alongside greats like Anita Baker and on The Voice) sing at the momentous Birthday celebration for our friend Tony. This song and how she sang it resonates with me and brought an extra smile to my face as she sang it just the way my mother did. Hats off to you Beth and lots of respect from my little corner.
