☠️ If humans were the ones being mass murdered daily then we wouldn’t last very long.

🤷‍♂️ I don’t know about you, but a lot of people don’t seem to grasp just how much killing humans get up to day to day. That’s why this stat is one of my favourites.

👨‍💻 It puts readers in the animal’s position, and it shows just how powerful this global slaughter machine has become.

Every year in the UK alone we kill:

🐷 10 million pigs.
🐑 15 million sheep.
🦃 14 million turkeys.
🦆 15 million ducks and geese.
🐓 982 million broiler chickens.
🐔 50 million 'spent hens'.
🐄 2.6 million cattle.
🐟 4.5 billion fish.
🐚 2.6 billion shellfish.
👉 Totalling approximately 8 BILLION animals.

🌎 The current global population currently sits around 7.8 billion. So the UK alone kills more lives than the total number of humans around the world every year.

🤯 I still can’t get my head around it, there’s such a disconnect here of what people pick up at the shops and how it gets there.

💭 Final thought - If the entire UK population doesn’t even last a day, just imagine how long it’d take for humans to become extinct? Comment your prediction below!

Homemade Buffalo Cauliflower is my favorite with celery sticks, roman lettuce, tomatoes, hemp seeds, vegan parmesan cheese and vegan ranch dressing.
