Three years ago, leaving EDC was harder than I expected.

Most of my friends and family lived in different states, and after spending 10 years in Las Vegas, it still felt more like home than Michigan did.

As a single mom, I often used my kid-free time to travel and spend time with the people I loved most, the friends and family my previous life had taken me away from.

Back then, I wasn’t just sad the festival was over. I was sad to leave the people and places that made me feel connected.

This year, I found myself reminiscing about those memories and missing the friends and family who couldn’t be there.

But something else felt different too.

I was excited to get home.

Sad the weekend ended, but grateful for the life, people, and little humans waiting for me there. ❤️
