When your 10-year-old ballerina becomes YOUR coach! 🩰😂💕

She’s 10, she’s fierce, and she’s my bestie. 👯‍♀️

Seems like just yesterday I was teaching her, and now she’s the one teaching me. 🥹 I couldn’t be prouder of this kid!

A little hard work, a few goals, a whole lot of laughter, and one VERY celebrated roundoff! 🤸‍♀️😂

Turns out, being silly together might just be our favorite workout. 💗

It’s temporary…or is it 🤔

Sharing a little Friday fun that made our day a little more whimsical and a little less serious.

Enjoy!

Murder Mystery Date Night 🔪🍷🫆

There was mystery, intrigue and a lot of shenanigans.

We love a good mystery and have completed a few of these kits over the last couple years. It’s always a good time and stimulates creative conversation. 💞

First date night in 5 years 👩‍❤️‍👨

After moving from California to Florida in 2020, two weeks before covid, it was challenging to have a date night away from home. 4 years later, post covid and finding the right babysitter, all we had to do was move from her waitlist to active clients ⏳

This past weekend, a year later, we had our first date!!!!!! And it was perfect 💛

8 was great but Christmas morning for 9 was even better! Noah was more excited this year, if you can believe it!

At the very top of her list for the past two years was a Vespa scooter. The night before, she told us she had a very good feeling that this would be her year. She was right!

This year’s video is filled with the best moments of pure joy. She received so many special gifts, making it easy to capture countless smiles 🤗

Thank you to Santa, his team of elves, and our friends and family for bringing Christmas magic to Casa Cruz once again.

And as always, set to Noah’s fav Christmas song of the season 🎄

🎄Since Last Christmas🎄

If your year involved ballet schedules, ice skating rehearsals, sourdough hydration ratios, and negotiating with a one-year-old puppy who fully understands the power of treats, then congratulations YOU HAD A YEAR LIKE OURS 😅

This year’s key learnings:

🐾A puppy’s ability to create mischief is phenomenally high
🦄“Free time” is a myth
🍞Sourdough is less a hobby and more a lifestyle choice

Noah Ryli once again claims the Casa Cruz Cup 🏆
Ice skating, ballet, lyrical 2, three Nutcracker roles, and now vocal lessons, currently working on “Maybe” from Annie. Casual overachiever.

Mariano remains a steady contender 👟
still running and returning to the Nutcracker stage as a Party Dad in all three shows. Consistency matters.

As for me, I’m leaning into my role as a professional wife🧘‍♀️successful sourdough starter, solid communication streaks, committed relationship with my Peloton, and regularly defying gravity as a member of an adult synchronized ice skate team. Growth comes in many forms.

And then there’s Harvey Rocco 🐶
Our puppy turned one in May and is already running the house. He’s learned to sign “more” (specifically for treats) and will do just about anything if properly incentivized.

Exhausted. Laughing. Grateful beyond measure.

Merry Christmas from our crew to yours 🎄💕

Since Last Christmas

If your year ended with hauling new holiday pillows, a faux fur throw, and camera to a field at sunset to snag a pic that just might work for the front of a Christmas card then you too had a year like ours!

2024 key learnings: One week should really consist of 8 days, eight hours sleep is a ridiculously negligent recommendation and NEVER WAIT TO BOOK A PHOTOGRAPHER!

As far as accomplishments, Noah Ryli takes the Casa Cruz Cup for 2024, putting us both to shame. She starred in four plays, had her first vocal solo on stage, received first place in both the long and short Ice Skate programs, played her first two minute piece on the piano with pedals, and pliéd her way across stage in this year’s Alice in Wonderland ballet recital. She says if being a pop-star, Olympic ice skater or prima ballerina doesn’t work out. She’ll settle for being an actress 😂

Notable mentions for the runner up. Mariano ran his first marathon and completed 8 weeks of dance lessons for his on-stage debut in The Nutcracker ballet 🕺🏽

And in last place, myself, the crazy lady with pillows, faux fur throw and camera in the middle of a field, more grateful than ever to have had 365 days of new memories. Merry Christmas from all of us to you!

Until Next Year, Mariano, Lyn, Noah Ryli and Harvey Rocco (Did I mention we got a puppy?)

Eight is great as they say and Christmas morning couldn’t have been better!

Noah woke up so excited for our video tradition. She told me she was going to “play it cool” this year because her heart nearly exploded last year 😂 I don’t know that she fulfilled her plan. She definitely screamed louder than last year.

When she turned the corner we saw Christmas magic through the look in her eyes. It’s worth the planning and late nights. She deserves all the magic in the world!

Thank you to Santa and his team of elves for bringing Christmas magic to Casa Cruz once again 💛✨✨✨✨

PS. This is Noah’s favorite Christmas song!

Recital time on the concert grand piano 🤩🎹

Mission Bells, William Gillock.

Today was a full day! Synchronized Ice Skate practice, Nutcracker ballet rehearsal and a piano recital…all before 1pm.

There was no time for a wardrobe change so Noah played in her ballet wear. We were already running late and arrived just in time to get her on stage to play. At 8 years old she settled in fast and played like we hadn’t just run across the parking lot and into the recital hall. I grabbed my phone quickly to record and don’t know how I held the phone steady, with tears welling up in my eyes. Thank you God for this moment, thank you God for this day, thank you God for her 💛🙏🏼

This is her first full piece with pedals. She loves the way it makes the notes sound 🥰

We could not be more proud of our little Noah. She has worked so hard on this piece over the last couple months. We’ve heard it in all of it’s stages and feel so grateful to be alongside her, listening 💛 Mission Bells #missionbells #pianist #pianistsofinstagram #casacruz #
