Not saying that it should be done... but if it was... what might it look like?... Another classic rebooted nostalgia concept made in a spare moment. I’m away from my workshop but I have my laptop so I whipped up this sketchy digital concept render of a modernised 98 Rollerblade flagship line just for kicks. The skate which took my rolling skill to new levels was The RB Ci-5. Absolute beast of a skate, I loved it. I later had the Dirk, Edwards Daytona, G, Swindler, Suede, Delux and the TRS Access. Rode them all into the ground 🤘 Some of my hard boot setups were inspired by the late Richard Taylor and Fabiola Da Silva; running 50/50 frames and USD throne plates (and more recently M12 UFS soulframes). I liked the idea of the Solo but all the straps, vent holes and higher ride just wasn’t for me. This is my halfway point concept; Lower profile 1pc soul frame, optional powerstraps & classic toebox shell lines. Clean, simple & street tough like the original with some modern Rollerblade touches and those oldschool channel grooves. ToTalLy rAd! It’s more of a cheesy retro novelty tribute concept so realistically I can’t see Rollerblade ever going in this kind of direction which is understandable. Some things should just be left in the past. They appear to be doing something innovative & exciting with the Solo and I’m all for it🤘 I was going to run the 🕷 treatment on my original Dirk but I can’t bring myself to tear them up for a concept.
