The LA fires may have calmed down, but for those who have lost everything, the hardest part is far from over. 💔

I know at least a dozen people grieving the loss of their home. They’re struggling with guilt over what they left behind, sleepless nights, PTSD symptoms and an overwhelming uncertainty about the future. Even the smallest routines like grabbing coffee at their usual spot or seeing familiar faces at the grocery store are gone. California will never be the same.

What matters most now is how we show up for those who have lost it all. My Rabbi @steve_leder always says, instead of asking “What can I do?”, take action.

Cook them a meal, offer them your unused furniture or clothes, help them with a logistical task or simply check in and listen.

Small gestures ease the burden in ways that words can’t for those who are rebuilding their entire lives.
