TEQUAN “RUGRAT” MORRIS 😤🔥

Deerfield Beach got a problem in the trenches.

Rugrat plays with bad intentions — getting in the backfield, blowing plays up, and making life uncomfortable for anybody trying to protect the pocket.

POCKET DESTROYER. Remember the name.

Bryce Gowdy ATH - Deerfield Beach HS C/O 2020’

Bryce “Simba” Gowdy, an elite student-athlete, signed a scholarship offer to play for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in 2019. His Deerfield Beach (Fla.) community rejoiced with his family for another South Florida native closer to fulfilling a dream to play in the National Football League. Within days of starting his collegiate journey, the 17-year-old stepped in front of an oncoming freight train and died.

Gowdy, the oldest sibling of three, was trying to support his mother and brothers through a slew of struggles: His and his mother’s mental health issues, financial hardships, and homelessness, according to relatives. While the community celebrated him, the young Gowdy carried the hurt of “making it out” while his close-knit family lived in a car.

He was a four-star recruit out of Deerfield Beach and was one of the top-rated players coming in to Georgia Tech as part of the No. 25-ranked class in the country.

“Bryce was an outstanding young man with a very bright future. He was a smart kid who was ahead of his time. He was observant, because he loved to learn just like he loved to read. He was taught to be kind and humble,” his uncle said.

Bryce Gowdy Foundation : A private philanthropic foundation dedicated to building villages of opportunity where young hearts and minds are empowered to grow, lead, and thrive.
