CALIFORNIA 🏔️ Way too short of a trip but so special to have time with family and friends 🫶🏽 It seems so crazy that this used to be home. Everyone loved going over all the memories we have here, all the trails we hiked, all the long drives we would go on in hunt for bears, all the camping trips to the coast, and the nights we would go star gazing. I'm so thankful for that time together ❤️ Most of the boys are convinced they are going to move back when they are older.

Add in speed and power to your body movements to get all the way over the weakness and imbalance that you feel.
Make sure you are still doing some of the stabilizer activation exercises, but don't you stay there or on slow controlled movements your body needs power for maximal function.
Moon first starting these start with low reps and set to assess your shoulders tolerance to the fast movement. Listen to it during the day or two after. Then make adjustments based on what you feel.

Rip currents used to freak me out, but thanks to Eva, I’ve learned to spot them and actually use them to my advantage! 🌊 Instead of fearing them, rips can make paddling out way easier if you know what to look for.

🤔 How to spot a rip current:
🌊 Deeper, darker water between breaking waves
🌊 A choppy or smooth surface with fewer whitecaps
🌊 Foam, debris, or seaweed moving AWAY from shore
🌊 Waves breaking more on either side but not in the rip itself

The other day in Santa Cruz, I didn’t notice the rip at first—but after watching the water for a bit, I spotted it and got so excited I had to take a video to send to Eva 😂. Watching the ocean before paddling out is so important because rips aren’t always obvious at first! They can be super helpful when paddling out to the lineup or can be dangerous when you unexpectedly get caught in one.
