Today, I’m cutting up fabric scraps and donated fabric to make Beads of Courage bags! 🧵✨

Beads of Courage is a program that supports children facing serious illnesses by helping them document their medical journeys through colorful beads. Each bead represents a milestone, a treatment, a challenge, or a moment of bravery. The bags give these special beads a safe place to live as a child collects them along the way. 💜

As a handmade business, I love finding ways to give leftover fabric a second life. Knowing these little bags will hold something so meaningful makes every scrap worth saving. 🥹💕

Five years ago yesterday, Asher had his first heart surgery. Over 10 hours of anxiously waiting to be back with our newborn. Every year, we look back at this photo of him, and he asks about all the medical equipment surrounding him. I’m always so proud to remind him just how much of a fighter he’s been through all the pokes (and repokes), procedures, and hospital stays during his first few years of life.

This might be the last year he thinks it’s cool to wear his Tiny Superheroes cape, but I hope he’s never afraid to show off his scars. 🥲 So incredibly proud of our little hero. Happy Heartiversary, Asher ❤️‍🩹

We got discharged from the hospital💙

After 118 days, we finally get to close the hospital door behind us — at least for a little while — and take our sweet boy home. 🥹

There are truly no words big enough to describe what this moment means to us. After everything Theo has been through, getting to leave the hospital with him feels like the biggest victory!

Ireland went gold this September 💛

All across Ireland this month, people stood up for children with cancer and their families.

So many of you showed up. You gave your time, your weekends, your voices and your stories. Some of you know this world from the inside, and still found the strength to help the next family coming after you. That’s something we’ll never take for granted.

Thank you. Truly.

But September is only one month. Families need support throughout the year, and we want to be there for every one of them.

329 days. 300+ Beads of Courage. And one very big milestone. 🎗️

As Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month comes to an end, so does Hailey’s most intensive chapter of leukemia treatment.

The beads will keep coming. Next week we begin 14 months of maintenance—still treatment, still bloodwork and procedures, but also a much easier new normal.

So grateful for the science, the families who came before us, and the incredible team at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital who got our little fighter here.
We made it to maintenance. ❤️

This month, I decided to do things a little differently. 💙❤️

It’s been eight years since Xavier had his first open-heart surgery. Normally, we celebrate his heartiversary with a heart-shaped cookie, but this year we decided to make it a little more special. We took a little trip to Wisconsin to celebrate him and remind him just how loved and special he truly is.

No matter how much time passes, if I close my eyes, I can still feel like I’m right back in that moment scared, confused, worried, and not knowing if our baby was going to be okay. The fear of not knowing if he was going to make it was something I’ll never forget.

Eight years later, we are still celebrating him, loving him, and being thankful for every moment we get with him.

This year, we also decided to do a special photo shoot, and I absolutely love how the pictures came out. 💙❤️ The beads you see next to Xavier are his Beads of Courage. Each bead represents something he has been through throughout his journey surgeries, hospital admissions, procedures, treatments, and so many other moments he has had to face. Seeing all of those beads together is such a powerful reminder of just how much he has overcome.

Happy 8-year heartiversary, Xavier. ❤️
