Dust and Dusted, table tops made out of sawdust waste.

During Milan Design Week 2025, the amazing work of the final-year MAMF students’ was displayed on plinths made out of @bean.made ’s workshop waste. We aimed to minimise the raw materials used for exhibition displays and repurpose some waste while at it.

After blood, sweat and (a lot of) dust, Michael, Ece and I created a material mixture that foams up when layered and hardens in minutes. The result is a lightweight, strong and unpredictably beautiful composite material.

Thanks to everyone who was a part of this challenge🪵!

Sarang is a sculptural take on the pot stand archetype. The ceramic pot is notched at the base allowing it to located and perch securely onto a 3 legged base.

I have been working with ceramicist @bridgettechan to design and produce these slip casted pots in a way that would allow two very different materials to shrink and fit perfectly after firing.

They come in two sizes and a choice of two stoneware finishes for the pot and two choices of wood for the stand, producing a few variations to choose from.

All pieces are currently handmade by us in our studio in Tottenham, London

Also thanks to all the lovely people who helped us out on this project

HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGH "All human beings have three lives: public,
private, and secret." - Gabriel García Márquez, 2012
Personal treasures, private secrets, objects of desire; subtly secured from prying eyes. In today’s dynamic and exciting urban centres, where space is precious, we have few opportunities to protect our treasured belongings. ‘Hidden in Plain Site’ explores how furniture can conceal our secret possessions within contemporary homes.
In this collection of quiet geometric forms all is not what it seems. Each contain secret compartments cleverly conceived to enhance the ‘pleasure in the reveal.’ In the ritual of use, memories are created by the interaction of retrieval and rediscovery, creating emotional journeys for everyday pleasures.

Special thanks to Shape London for supporting the project.
