TIMELESS BLACK Le noir est la couleur classique de l’élégance des icônes du Old Hollywood 🖤 D’après les tests colorimétriques, les couleurs chaudes sont celles qui me mettent le plus en valeur. Pourtant, j’aime faire quelques petits écarts en associant le noir aux bons accessoires pour mieux me mettre en valeur ✨ Se faire plaisir de temps en temps, sans se frustrer, même lorsque ce n’est pas SA couleur, c’est important ! Moi aussi, j’ai envie de m’inspirer des tenues incroyables d’Audrey Hepburn, de Grace Kelly, de Marlène Dietrich, de Rita Hayworth et de bien d’autres icônes 🥰 En voici quelques exemples avec certaines pièces noires de ma propre collection ✨ Laquelle préférez-vous ? 🖤 ••• 🇬🇧 Black is the classic colour of elegance for Old Hollywood icons 🖤 According to my colour analysis, warm colours are the ones that suit me best. However, I like to make a few exceptions by pairing black with the right accessories to enhance my look ✨ It’s important to treat yourself from time to time without feeling restricted, even when a colour isn’t YOUR colour! no matter where you go, some cities haunt you. oxford is a city I lived in within a parallel universe, and I mean this quite literally, not merely in an imaginative sense. maybe I have told you this before, but at the beginning of my academic career, I was accepted into master’s programmes by two institutions I loved: film aesthetics at the University of Oxford, and philosophy of art and literature at the University of York. because I wanted to work in the philosophy of literature and was deeply enthusiastic about having Peter Lamarque as my supervisor, I chose York. York was truly enchanting to live in, and what I studied there literally shaped who I am today, immensely captivated by the philosophy of literature and metafiction. this year, I presented two different literature papers at two separate conferences at the University of Oxford: one right after the new year, welcoming winter, and the other towards the end of the year, welcoming autumn. both were very inspiring conferences, affirming why I am doing this and both works felt true to my heart. so recently walking amongst Oxford's narrow, cobbled streets, feeling the crisp wind on my cheeks, and catching the scent of fallen leaves, I met earlier versions of myself. I talked to them, flirted with them, was sometimes questioned by them, and finally let them go, leaving them to wander their own whimsical paths through their unique, beautiful universes. I will stay on this path, where I belong. so cheers to all paths, not taken!

Another set from Český Krumlov, because I haven’t had time to edit anything else lately. It’s been a non-stop few weeks (I write this at 03:58, willing my morning coffee to give me the energy to tackle an obnoxiously early flight), so I hope you’ll forgive me the brief radio silence. Anyway, Český Krumlov. I’ve already waxed lyrical about this charming Czech town (I even have a guide, which you can discover in my last post), and yet I still somehow have more to share. This was our first morning, again horribly early, when the view from the castle was a sea of rooftops and smoking chimneys in the first golden glow of dawn. If you’re visiting Český Krumlov, I highly recommend making it up to the castle for either sunrise or sunset - both are beautiful. It’s also the quietest time to take in the view, as many of the tourists who make up the crowds here are day trippers from Prague. Today we’re actually flying to somewhere pretty close by, hopefully just in time for a sea of Autumn colours. I’ve packed my chunkiest knits, brand new hiking boots, and a bajillion lenses, give or take…

Standing up and presenting your own research to a room full of academics is not exactly the most comfortable experience ✨ But I pushed through, received some really positive feedback afterwards, and was reminded that sometimes discomfort is actually part of the growth.
