POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Some people drove more than three hours to Fayetteville today for one reason: they believe where you live in Georgia should not determine your access to quality cancer care.

I was grateful to be invited by @ga.core to join cancer leaders from across our state for “From Recommendations to Reality,” a conversation focused on turning the findings of Georgia’s House Study Committee on Cancer Care Access into action.

We talked candidly about insurance, transportation, distance to care, health literacy, screening, workforce, funding, policy, and the realities facing rural and underserved communities.

One question has stayed with me:

How often are our systems built around where the market is rather than where the need is?

That will preach far beyond cancer care.

What encouraged me most was seeing an ‘army of willing people’ in the room. People asking what we can do now, what requires broader change, and how we can work differently together.

It was wonderful reconnecting with longtime colleagues and meeting so many people in person whom I had previously only known through Zoom or LinkedIn.

Thank you to Dr. @lynnmdurham, Katreena Davis, and the Georgia CORE team for bringing us together.

The recommendations are here.

Now comes our responsibility to turn them into action.

I’m excited about what comes next, together.

Colorectal cancer doesn’t wait for clear skies. Neither does our commitment to community. 💙

Yep. We showed up.

Soaked. Smiling. Ready to inflate a 20-foot MegaColon and serve Atlanta.

Due to the persistent severe weather, today’s Beloved Community International Expo at The King Center was cancelled. Safety comes first, and we’re grateful to The King Center for looking out for our community.

Still, I wanted you to see this picture.

@beastrobinc + @crcequity were READY.

Rain or shine, we came to serve because this work is bigger than one event and one day.

A HUGE thank you to our partners at Guardant Health, BeastRob, Fight Colorectal Cancer, Cancer Hope Network, Clinton Haworth Collective, and Pinnacle BioLabs, along with every volunteer and supporter who helped us prepare.

The rain may have stopped today’s activation.

It did not stop the mission.

We’ll be back. 💙

Atlanta, stay safe today. We look forward to serving you again soon.

What does health have to do with building the Beloved Community? Everything. 💙

Next Saturday, we’re bringing the 20-foot MegaColon to @thekingcenter!

Dr. Bernice A. King recently shared what’s coming to historic Auburn Avenue for the FREE Beloved Community International Expo: cultures from around the world, music, food, family activities, community resources, giveaways, and so much more.

CRC Equity is honored to be part of it.

We’re creating a space where families can walk through the MegaColon, learn about colorectal cancer prevention, early detection, and screening, ask questions, and leave with resources they can actually use.

Even better, we’re doing it alongside an incredible group of partners: @guardanthealth, @beastrobinc, @fightcrc, and @cancerhopenetwork.

📅 September 12th
⏰ 11 AM–5 PM ET
📍 The King Center | Atlanta
🎟️ FREE

Bring the family. Experience the cultures. Celebrate community.

Then come find the giant colon. You won’t be able to miss us. 😂

PARTNER SPOTLIGHT 🎉 | @beastrobinc

Health should include joy.

That’s one of the many reasons we’re excited to have BeastRob alongside CRC Equity at The King Center on September 12th.

BeastRob brings movement, encouragement, community, and a powerful reminder that taking care of ourselves can be something we do with joy—not fear.

Together, we’re creating an activation where people can learn, laugh, move, ask questions, and leave better equipped to protect their health.

Because healthier communities are stronger communities. 💙

Tag someone who brings joy to your health journey.

Yesterday, we asked one simple question:

“Why do you support Share the Road?”

The responses reminded us that this movement is about much more than bicycles.

It’s about parents.

Spouses.

Friends.

Children.

Every cyclist is someone’s loved one.

Every driver has the power to help someone make it home safely.

Thank you to everyone who has shared their story. Let’s keep this conversation going.

Why do YOU support Share the Road?

Share your answer below.

WHY SHARE THE ROAD?

We asked one simple question:

“Why do you support Share the Road?”

The answers all came from real people—cyclists, advocates, engineers, and everyday riders who simply want everyone to make it home safely.

This movement is bigger than one club.
It’s bigger than one ride.
It’s about respect, awareness, and understanding that our roads belong to all of us.

If one person’s words make someone think twice before passing too closely, this campaign has already made a difference.

🗓 Saturday, August 1
📍133 Hurt Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30317
⏰ Meet: 8:00 AM | Roll: 8:30 AM
🚴 30 Miles

If Share the Road means something to you, help us spread the message by sharing this reel.

Because every rider deserves to make it home.

Team @beastrobinc just ran our first 10k Peachtree Road Race. We were inspired by our late friend @lizscoots, who was an ambassador last year with us @fightcrc. We'll remember your strength, kindness, and resilience by continuing the fight against colorectal cancer and encouraging early testing. While there's a lot we don't know about colorectal cancer, we can lower our chances of getting it by staying up to date with screenings. More can be done through case studies, and funding is a huge part of that. We'll keep fighting. #ColorectalCancerAwareness #colorectalcancer #coloncancer #wearblue #wearbluetoremember

As we wrap up #colorectalcancerawarenessmonth, just gotta say how grateful I am to work alongside such amazing warriors and advocates for #colorectalcancer.

March is a special month when many of us get to come together around the country whether it’s Call on Congress with @fightcrc, Cologuard Classic with @exactsciences or the many events we put on at our institutions and organizations. It’s a time for us to go even more above and beyond to teach about #colorectalcancer risk and screening, to advocate for research dollars, and to acknowledge the many we have lost to (or who are still battling) this disease.
I AM SO HONORED to fight next to these relentless warriors. No time is more urgent than now as this disease impacts more and more young people. Thank you for your bravery and tireless advocacy. Upward and onward! 💙

Colorectal Cancer Awareness Ride 💙

Yesterday wasn’t just about the ride… it was about the message.

We showed up in blue, rode with purpose, and stood together to bring awareness to something that affects too many lives—but doesn’t get talked about enough.

This ride was about community, education, and action.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers when caught early.
Getting tested isn’t something to put off—it’s something to prioritize.

Here’s what you should know:
• Regular screening is recommended starting at age 45
• If you have a family history, you may need to start earlier
• There are multiple testing options, including at-home tests
• Early detection can save your life

Don’t wait for symptoms. Stay ahead.

We ride for awareness.
We ride for prevention.
We ride for each other.

Shoutout to everyone who came out, supported, and helped spread the message. Let’s keep the conversation going.
