9 million views in 2 days 🦑 Whenever I’m brought onto a production, I ask myself: what excites me about this project? With Nexus: Sky Heist, I loved that our heroes aren’t really heroes at all. It’s a brother and sister mid-robbery who stumble onto creatures that can’t fend for themselves. As kids, heroes wore capes, colorful outfits, had fancy gadgets. Then you grow up and realize that in the real world, they rarely look like that. Most of the time, it’s just someone being given an opportunity to do the right thing. Then came the hard part. Making it feel real. Not the scale, but the little things. Which way a train moves, how a fish bursts through a window, how an expression lands. Scale gets attention. The little details make you believe it. I was one animator on a much bigger team. Thank you @pjacefilms for giving us the chance to tell these stories, @medanweller for writing them into existence, @beaucinematic for painting the world, @tyler.messervey for finding its rhythm, and @dreamina_ai for the tools to make it happen. I thought I was done. A few months after “Avalanche” dropped in 2023, I honestly thought I had written the final chapter on music mostly for good. I thought that time in my life had reached its natural end. But after stepping away I realized the urge to create never truly left. “Citadel” isn’t just a new single; it’s the beginning of a brand new direction and a testament to starting over.
