NEARLY $60,000 RAISED! Thank you for making the Theodore Roosevelt Association’s inaugural Big Stick Golf Outing an incredible success! Held on September 14th—the 125th anniversary of President Theodore Roosevelt becoming the 26th President of the United States—the outing welcomed more than 115 guests and 40+ sponsors to the Town of Oyster Bay Golf Course. Emceed by @news12li anchor @joearenan12, the event was held in partnership with the Nassau County Lions Hockey Program and honored the @liwarriorshky Veteran Hockey Team for its commitment to community, service, and advocacy. A special thank you to our sponsors: Presenting Sponsor: @newyorklife / @thefirmfinancialgroup Dinner Reception: @bulovasrestorations Lunch: @jonesbeachbrew Cocktail Hour: @corehockeyny Breakfast: @fraschilla_plumbing Beat the Pro: @beaulardner Golf The day also marked the launch of Big Stick Pilsner with Jones Beach Brewing Company, supporting TRA programs benefiting the @usstheodoreroosevelt (CVN-71). Golfers also received the event’s “Golf Is Fatal” T-shirts, donated by @midnightplatoonclothing. The shirts were inspired by President Theodore Roosevelt’s famous 1908 warning to William Howard Taft about the political risks of being photographed playing golf: “Photographs of me on horseback, yes. Tennis, no. And golf is fatal.” Nearly $60,000 raised will help advance the TRA’s five mission pillars: Scholarship, Youth, Police, Military, and Conservation. Thank you to every sponsor, golfer, volunteer, committee member, and supporter who made this new TRA event possible. I don’t know about you, but this turn to spring weather has me thinking golf. For me, the best way to practice my swing and try to get the cobwebs off is to find a driving range nearby. Being in a concrete jungle, I think the best solution.is a golf simulator, and for me, @loftlinks is the place. It is on the Upper East Side, near the corner of East 87th and Third Ave. the staff are great, particularly the manage, Mark. If you want some lessons, it would be hard to do better than @beaulardner. He confided in me that he was a consultant for an upcoming golf movie on Netflix. #golf #golfrange #golfswing
