As you can imagine, having both a broken arm and leg just days before starting middle school is really tough on her.

$It is impossible to determine the exact number of X-rays that Hadley has undergone in her short life. We have spent many many hours waiting for them. Yesterday, we found ourselves yet again in search of answers and in need of X-rays. 🩻 Last Sunday, Hadley fell and injured her leg. Initially, she thought the fracture was not too bad and decided that she wanted to wait to get X-rays. However, after three days, Hadley’s condition did not improve, so we decided that it was time for her to undergo an X-ray. Hadley frequently experiences a little anxiety and apprehension before undergoing X-rays. Those who have undergone X-rays can relate! Moving with a fracture can be excruciatingly painful at times, so we were relieved that the X-rays weren’t too painful. ❤️ Unfortunately, the X-rays revealed a small fracture in Hadley’s femur and another possible issue. She will need more X-rays next week to check on everything. 💔 Hadley could use extra love, hugs, and positive energy. We are grateful for your continued support and love. $I’m often asked if I knew that Hadley had Osteogenesis Imperfecta during pregnancy.. At 20 weeks doctors begin to be concerned about Hadley’s femur length.. Guessing she probably had a form of dwarfism. For the next 18 weeks I saw a MFM doctor. These appointments were very stressful and emotional! Every week the only thing they would tell us was Hadley’s femurs are measuring short... At 39 weeks I was induced. Hadley was 6lbs 2 ounces (large for an OI baby) when she was born… She looked just like her older sister Kinzley! Before we left the hospital we met with our pediatrician he confirmed what we already knew. Hadley didn’t have any physical attributes of a baby born with Achondroplasia. I remember her Doctor saying “she looks just PERFECT”. I remember feeling relief as we spoke with him. Little did we know our world would change forever in a just a few weeks when Hadley was diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta.. For those of you who are new followers here is more information!💗 Hadley was born with a rare genetic disorder called Osteogenesis Imperfecta,(OI) or brittle bone disease. She was diagnosed when she was only 4 weeks old… Fracturing is the most recognized symptom. In many cases without treatment and surgery the individual will never be able to walk. Hadley has had 129 fractures that we know of and it is certain she will have more. She has also endured 26 surgeries with more to come. Despite this Hadley continues to share her positive vibes with everyone she meets!
