You could say sometimes not everyone is the best at what they do, and that’s okay, because nobody starts out being the best. This year so far, I’ve learnt that sometimes you have to get worse before you can get better. You have to go through the difficult moments, make mistakes, have days where you question yourself, and sometimes feel like you’re not making any progress at all. But that doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re learning. Growth isn’t always about seeing yourself improve every single day; sometimes it’s about looking back and realising how much you’ve changed, how much you’ve learnt, and how much stronger you’ve become without even noticing it. I’ve realised that comparing yourself to other people will only make you forget your own journey. Everyone has their own pace, their own struggles, their own setbacks and their own moments where everything finally starts to come together. You might not be where you want to be yet, but that doesn’t mean you won’t get there. Keep putting in the work, keep showing up even on the days when you don’t feel like it, keep learning from the things that don’t go your way, and most importantly, keep believing that you can become better. Sometimes taking a step backwards is exactly what you need to take two steps forward. I’m still learning, still improving, still making mistakes, and still figuring things out, but I’m proud of the progress I’ve made so far. This year has taught me that being the best isn’t about never struggling — it’s about refusing to give up when things get difficult. There’s still a long way to go, but I’m ready for whatever comes next.
