Cancún Open 25’ ☀️ 🥇 Dueto Mixto Juvenil 🥇 Solo Masculino Juvenil Una competencia linda y memorable. 🇪🇨 . . . . . . Cancún Open 25’ ☀️ 🥇 Youth Mixed Duet 🥇 Youth Male Solo A beautiful and memorable competition. I loved competing for my country again and representing the Ecuadorian flag. Cancún was an incredible competition where I had the opportunity to learn in a different country. This was just another step in the journey my duet @ayelenyepez and I have begun to make artistic swimming a more recognized sport in Ecuador. 💪🏻 I will always miss my country and its people. But I am very grateful to all the coaches, the federation, the teammates and friends from whom we have received support, and above all, my family. 🇪🇨 ¡Si se puede Ecuador! 🇪🇨 @beckymeitin @houstonsynchrostars @tathemartins @coachginnyw @sisy.wang @isa.barbelle @billmayartisticswimmer @javierruisanchez__ @itsyuliyulz @sacipics @clubdeportivoisalen @oroygrana_swimmingclub @raul.grajales.9400 @fenaec @dr.juan_santamaria_almeida @medactiva_ec @naturalvitalityec

We want to share this powerful story of perseverance on National Get Up Day from Masters Athlete Becky, pictured here with her daughter and duet partner at the 2017 Masters World Championships in Budapest, Hungary: “I was excited about going to Sweden for World Masters in 2010. Then in January 2010 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a mastectomy at the end of February. I told my doctors I was going to compete in Sweden the 1st of August, so please support me. They were quite excited about it, actually, because having a goal helps healing. I had my reconstruction in mid-June. Normally they want you inactive for six weeks. My program was two weeks of no activity, one week of only kicking, one week working back into lap swimming, one to work back into synchro, and the last one to practice. It hurt - everything hurt. But, when I completed my tech solo, I broke into tears. I DID IT! I would heal.” You did it, Becky! #WeGetUp
