Damn. Where do I start with this post? Well first off, I just wanna say from the bottom of your big brudda’s heart, I’m very proud of you man. ⁣⁣

Yesterday, I pulled up to Defient Studios where we met for the first time when you was like 13. I started having flashbacks of this chubby kid with a Mohawk who said he wanted to rap and no one would take you serious. For some reason I did. And it wasn’t cause who your dad is or any other greedy reason like that. It was because looking at you was like closest thing to looking in a mirror. We grew up kinda similar. People try to put our parents success on top of us, pressuring us, yet we always knew we gotta build our own path for what we wanna do. And I’ve seen you just grow into one of the best lyricist under 21 with my own two eyes. You didn’t give up, you didn’t listen to the critics. All them people who kept saying “He’ll never be as good as his dad”, are circling around you to hear you speak now. You put real time into your craft and now you’re in a league of your own kid. ⁣⁣

Recording for this album was one of the funnest sessions I had in a while. You opened my eyes/ears/mind to a different creative mindset. You showed what it means to go above and beyond in order to make timeless music. You’re the only artist this year that had me record a violinist, mix a whole gospel choir, and put skits together in 3 days. We recorded some of these records in the middle of the beautiful madness that @realcoleworld created at the @dreamville sessions at @treeleafmusic. It was a life changing experience. We chased Cole down 3 times to play him some of these records. And when I seen his response when we finally caught him, I know you were on to something special. You just had to trust in God, have faith and keep going. Now you have something priceless on your hands that no one can take away from you, a voice. ⁣⁣
