Doing my homework for BOW Beyond Borders. Our organization wants to create economic relationships for our members internationally. Bermuda is our first stop.

At the @butterfield.bermuda Golf Classic, our friends at @btainsights @investbermuda @bedcbda invited us to experience a taste of the island’s events, flavor, and traditions. Every moment had me thinking about how to bring our BOW members into Bermuda’s culture, not just to a conference.

Thank you for the warm welcome. July 2027, @the_b.o.w._collective is coming! 💚 @__sir.jah441 💚

Creating opportunities for Bermudian businesses to shine on an international stage! 🇧🇲⛳

Through a partnership between the BTA and the @bedcbda, local entrepreneurs are showcasing their products at the @butterfieldbdachamp's Longtail Club.

We caught up with Jamillah Lodge, BEDC’s Director of Communication & Development, to hear how this partnership is helping Bermudian businesses reach new audiences, expand their opportunities beyond our shores and showcase the incredible talent we have right here at home.

Vanessa Bartley of Scar Care Studio joined The Daily Hour to discuss her entrepreneurial journey and the inspiration behind her business.

She shares why understanding the emotional side of scar tattooing and supporting clients throughout their healing journey is just as important as the technique itself.

Sunset on the water with the BEDC and Brava crew 🌅⛵

Thank you @brava.bermuda and @bedcbda for an evening that proved the best networking happens with a view. Great to connect with @makaela_r from @onecommbda, who brought the energy for the whole cruise 🙌

I’m building Bright Bins, Bermuda’s grease trap compliance and bin washing service that trains young people aged 16–24 as it grows. Meeting people who want to see Bermudian ventures succeed is what makes the EBI journey worth it.

Who runs a kitchen or manages property and should know about us? Send them my way 🙌

Still trying to find the words to describe this moment ✨ 🥹
What an incredibly surreal experience. I am in shock that I had the opportunity to stand on stage and share my story at the International Women’s Leadership Conference in Dubai. A moment I will forever cherish.

First, a heartfelt thank you to BEDC for selecting me as one of the women entrepreneurs to represent Bermuda at this conference. Being surrounded by inspiring black women from across the world, learning from their experiences, exchanging ideas, & being reminded of the power of women in leadership.

My talk “The courage to create what you cannot find” was rooted in my journey of building Simply Bloom and recognising the importance of creating spaces for education, understanding and conversations around child and adolescent mental health & digital wellness within my community.

One message I shared was “courage doesn’t always mean being fearless. Sometimes courage means becoming more committed to the problem you want to solve than to the discomfort of being the person who steps forward to solve it” & how fitting that this experience required me to practice exactly what I was speaking about. To put myself forward, embrace the discomfort & trust that my story and perspective was worth sharing.

I walked away from this conference with new knowledge, meaningful connections, fresh inspiration & an even greater appreciation for the journey I am on.

Sometimes we don’t get to see the entire picture before we begin. Sometimes we can only see the gap, and we have to trust ourselves enough to take that first step.

“If you cannot find what you know should exist, perhaps leadership is asking you to have the courage to create it.” 🇧🇲 🌸✨ #womeninleadershiproles #tiwlc #bermuda

Meet Robin Johnson @itsrobinj , Founder & CEO of DYO OS — an execution system helping founders, creatives, and builders turn their biggest ideas into consistent action.

After a decade working across creative, product, and operations at Netflix, Apple, and Uber, Robin saw a common challenge: great ideas rarely fail because of a lack of ambition — they stall because the right systems aren’t in place to bring them to life.

Through DYO OS, Robin is building that infrastructure at the intersection of creativity, behavior, technology, and execution — helping people create the conditions to do their best work.

We’re excited to welcome Robin to Inspire Bermuda 2026 🇧🇲

NYC, you gave me exactly what I didn’t know I needed! 🗽✨

The 2026 Fast Company Innovation Festival was an opportunity to pause, learn, connect and view Pocket Change BDA through a wider lens. 💡🌍

From powerful conversations and thought-provoking sessions to exploring the city with other Bermudian entrepreneurs, every part of this experience added something valuable. 🎤🤝🏾🍽️

Hearing from leaders such as Selena Gomez, Martha Stewart, Tyra Banks, Russell Wilson, Reshma Saujani and many others reminded me that successful businesses continue to evolve while remaining connected to their purpose. 🚀📈

I’m leaving New York with fresh energy, clearer direction and plenty of ideas to develop—not simply because of what I heard, but because of the possibilities I can now see. 👀💚💙

Thank you, BEDC, for investing in Bermudian entrepreneurs and creating opportunities for us to learn beyond our shores. 🇧🇲🙏🏾

The experience may be over, but the work it inspired is just beginning. Stay tuned—Pocket Change BDA is building! 🧱⚡

A look back at the 2nd Annual Lumina Festival Financial Literacy Summit! 🎥✨

On Friday, September 25, 2026, I had the pleasure of facilitating a Budgeting Workshop alongside Nyla Maharaj, Account Executive and CFA Level II Candidate.

We connected with senior-school students from The Berkeley Institute, CedarBridge Academy and Bermuda Institute, helping them strengthen their understanding of budgeting and make more informed financial decisions.

The event also featured an inspiring lineup of speakers, including:

🎤 Armando Pantoja — international keynote speaker, futurist, investor, software engineer and USA Today bestselling author focused on financial markets and long-term technological wealth creation.

🎤 Craig Bridgewater, FCPA, FCA — local keynote speaker, who joined Jasmine DeSilva for an opening one-on-one interview about financial freedom, career development and wealth-building.

Three key takeaways that stayed with me:

1️⃣ If you are doing what the majority is not doing, you may be doing something right.

2️⃣ Invest in AI—and understand the infrastructure supporting it: energy and power, computing technology, and data.

3️⃣ Just do it! Stop waiting for the perfect moment and take the first step.

A very special shout-out to Lumina Festival founder Zach Wilson. Thank you for your vision, commitment and for bringing this powerful experience to the shores of our island home, Bermuda. 🇧🇲

A big thank-you to Jaylen Basden, my media technician for the day, for capturing the moments and helping me document this incredible experience! 🎥👏🏾

Shout-out as well to DJ Milhouse from Queens, New York, and Mr. Moto for bringing the great vibes! 🎶

Thank you to everyone who helped make this a wonderful experience at the National Museum of Bermuda in Dockyard. I am already looking forward to doing it again next year!

If you missed this year’s summit, you are in luck—the Lumina Festival will return next year! 🙌🏾
