@landgallery just wrapped up at @outsiderartfair and it was an absolute triumph! Congratulations to the LAND artists. It’s a really special experience to be able to witness an artists creative achievements in action and then witness the excitement people feel when they view it and to share in that joy with them. Also just filled with pride and gratitude for our growing team and our collaborators/ community 🫶🏼

25 hours in Brooklyn. Celebrated LAND Gallery’s 20th anniversary (woot woot to the amazing artists and to @bede_murphy for your leadership, compassion, and DJ skills as you elevate developmentally disabled adults into the art world. 🤩)
We cashed in some miles for a fab stay at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge—OMG the best view !!!! And everything about that hotel is gorgeous. Total eco-chic experience. LOVE.
On the way home we stopped at Sixteen Mills gluten free bakery and stocked up.
I am now a micro vacation super fan.

PHILADELPHIA | lovely photos from the launch of ‘LOOK EVERYWHERE’ now open until 31 October at Atelier Gallery in Philadelphia. Thanks to Holden @h.que.b for these photographs. It was so wonderful to have four of the artists at the launch to chat with those in attendance, making it a joyful celebration of artists and works from 30 progressive art studios across the United States. The curator Jennifer Gilbert also gave a short speech with ASL (American Sign Language) interpreters present. Thanks to the student helpers from Haverford College for supporting with the invigilation of this show.

👉🏻Exhibition open: Wednesday-Sunday 11am-5pm
👉🏻Free entry
👉🏻step free entrance available and toilets on site
👉🏻visit the website for further access information and an ASL video and BSL (British sign language) videos online.

Major support for overall ‘LOOK HERE’ project is provided by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage and Haverford College’s Hurford Center for the Arts and Humanities, with additional support from Atelier Fine Art Services & Advertising Systems Inc.

Last night we launched ‘LOOK EVERYWHERE’ at Atelier Gallery and what a heartwarming evening it was. ❤️Four artists travelled from afar to see their works, but the many others (all 33!) were celebrated of course. Thanks to everyone who took the time to come and enjoy the show, immersing themselves in the work of these incredible artists. As I said in my speech last night, these artists should be celebrated, valued and seen, and their voices should and deserve to be heard. Installation photos and a walk-through video to follow.

Access features are available in the space and online, including audio descriptions, a touch table, and a film featuring some exhibiting artists and some progressive art studios who represent artists (see my website).

Thanks to the artists and studios for their support making this show happen, to the lenders of artworks, and to all those involved in hanging it and building structures for works to be exhibited on. Thanks to Atelier Gallery for their support throughout and to Pew Center for the Arts for believing in this work and funding it.

This exhibition is open until 31 October, wed-sun 11am-5pm. See those of you at the linked symposium later in the month for my last Philly trip. 😔
