LABEL SPOTLIGHT ON @deviltowntapes 😈😈😈🏘️🏘️🏘️

hailing from Leeds since 2019, Devil Town is a cassette label headed by Jack Laurilla (of Exam Season fame ikyk). they focus mostly on hushed, bedroom DIY sounds from across the world.

“in my mind DTT has never really been defined by a specific sound exactly, but more of an ethos if that makes sense. I’m not sure I can put my finger on it exactly, but I just really relate to all the artists on the label, both in terms of what they have to say and how they share that in their music.”

since beginning, and putting on gigs in and around their beloved Leeds (hello Wharf Chambers!) DTT has worked with the likes of Greg Mendez, Conor Lynch and personal fave, omes.

we’re so excited to have a pretty hefty offering of Devil Town releases in stock, including the absolutely glorious @amelia_cry_til_i_die___yikes.

whats that? the genuinely mesmerizing, gentle and kind music from the solo moniker of Amelia Swain (Sadurn / Ther). I’ve followed the Philly music scene from afar since forever, so Amelia and co have been on my radar for the longest of times. amelia cry til i die make quiet and welcoming bedroom-country music, which is so human and close that it makes the distance between us seem not so far at all.

RIYL Adrianne Lenker, Sadurn, Greg Mendez, Field Medic, cups of tea in the morning and cups of tea at night.

scroll along for all releases in stock, including @pynkie4lyfe @noahrothmusic and more. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🤝🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😈💥🪕

what do you even put as a caption on things? I’m tempted to pour out my random a$$ notes app ramblings, grocery lists, nonsensical social commentary, film ideas, unfinished songs, the like, but anyway here’s a video from Jon’s old spot at russell industrial.
getting to create stuff with people who get it is the best thing in the entire world, no contest. Being in NC has been a whole lot of things, most of which has been supremely good, but the most difficult part is not having these knuckleheads next door and having to hold onto ideas until I get to see them. distance, the heart, fonder, yada yada. I <3 these people and we’ve been cooking up some cool stuff that I also <3

To a dearest friend, collaborator, techie mentor, creative spark plug and an impossibly beautiful soul, GOOD LUCK NOAH!! We will root for you, and support you, with every step as you move to Canada to be with your wife💐💞

Most people you meet are initially caught by surprise with your tender sincerity. Over time I’ve come to learn what a rare and unique power you have to pull the soul out of a conversation and bare it for the world. You have taught me patience, kindness and anger in equal parts.

Thank you for not blunting your gift for music. I hope you continue to record, produce, tinker and inspire me to do the same. and thank you for answering the call to play in Dryfruit with more enthusiasm than i could ever ask for. Whenever you wanna take a celeb set just give me a call.

Love, Drew❤️‍🔥
