Miss Bre…. prom!
.
This is a very humbling story… her grandma, Sherry, called on her behalf and was basically begging to get her granddaughter seen. It was the 1st of April with the prom being April 29th. My initial response was that I was booked and I’m sorry!
.
She proceeded to explain her problem… very busty. It’s truly sooo hard to be 18 and be busty AND find a prom gown that doesn’t look sleazy and then doesn’t look matronly.
.
Bre found the perfect gown! The kicker? She lives in North Carolina! Her grandma said this and it took me a second to process it! No one in her town would touch the dress OR they would do the awful triangle fill-in… So they were willing to drive to see me! 🤯
.
So now I’m personally invested! If she and her mom are willing to drive 10+ hours to see me, then I felt obligated to make it all happen in one weekend. They were seen on a Saturday and the plan was to have her back Sunday…
.
So, the neckline was a V-neck… My plan was to use the train(so the grainline stays straight and then parallel to the neckline). I did a muslin test to create a pattern.
.
I feel so much pressure to get it right when circumstances of logistics are rather extreme! This was a classic!
.
She walked out of the fitting room on Sunday just beaming! Her prom pictures say it all! I am just so honored to know they made quite the trek to see me and it was worth it!
