✨C L O S E D ✨ One year on booksta ❤️‍🔥 I came here to yap about books and I found my people. That’s it. That’s the whole story.

When I started this page I was bursting with thoughts about everything I was reading and I just needed somewhere to put them and somehow that turned into finding the best friends I didn’t know i was missing. I’m so grateful I did this, mostly because of all of you.

I did have one goal though: book merch. I’ve always done graphic design, had another shop before this, and I was itching to get back to it. This time I wanted to make things I actually wanted to wear. Subtle. Cute with a little edge. I hunted down the perfect oversized tees, the cutest baby tees, the comfiest tanks, and I am so happy with how it all came together. I set a goal and I actually did it, and that feels really good.

So to celebrate I’m doing a giveaway! One item from the shop, winner’s choice. Here’s how to enter:

✨ must be following me
✨ Post this to your story
✨ Tag a friend and tell me what you love the most about me…KIDDING…tell me your favorite trope!

I’ll pick a winner randomly on Saturday. Love you all so much. Here’s to another year of yapping 🖤

I loved this book sooo much 😭🥺🫶

CYRUS ??? I’m actually unwell. The YEARNING in this series is insane. The tension, the almost moments, the way they look at each other but don’t say what they’re feeling??? TOO good. I was giggling, stressed, and emotionally suffering all at once.

Plot-wise, I maybe wanted just a tiny bit more in a few spots just a little extra depth in certain moments. But honestly?? Getting Cyrus’s chapters in this book made up for so much. Being in his head, seeing his feelings and all that internal conflict and longing?? I loved that. It added so much and made everything hit harder.

The slow burn is still slow burning and I am still losing my mind over it.

Now I have to wait until August for the paperback of book 4 because I refuse to mess up my shelf with one random hardcover 😭 Why do publishers make us wait so long for paperbacks?? It’s actually painful.
Does anyone else refuse to buy the hardcover if the rest of their series is paperback, or is that just me being dramatic?? 😭📚

I really liked the idea behind this book. The mob families mixed with magic sounded so promising, and the magic system itself could’ve been really cool. That said, the execution didn’t fully work for me. The first half especially was confusing when it came to the magic I couldn’t fully grasp how it worked, and it honestly felt like some explanations were missing. The plot also felt a bit all over the place. There wasn’t a strong sense of direction, and the story jumped through important moments so fast that reading it felt like I’d missed a whole section somehow.
But despite all that, I was still entertained and that’s because of the characters and the romance. Camilla and Nicolai were everything. Their banter was so good, the tension between them was chef’s kiss, and every interaction had me hooked. They completely carried the book for me.
So while the world-building and plot needed more clarity, the characters and chemistry made this a fun read overall not perfect, but still enjoyable and worth it for the romance alone
