First Day of school!

Kicked off the new school year visiting Dream Academy and Beechfield Elementary/Middle School alongside Baltimore City Schools’ new CEO, Dr. Dawson.

There’s nothing like the first day of school. New classrooms, fresh starts, excited students and educators ready to get to work. I appreciated the chance to walk the halls, talk with students and staff, and welcome Dr. Dawson as he begins this new chapter leading our school system.

Wishing every student, teacher, principal, staff member and family across Baltimore a safe, successful and FUN school year.

Day one down. Let’s make it a great year, Baltimore! 🎒🍎

🎨✨ Day 1 with the Beechfield Crew!

Comrades, our first day painting with the students at Beechfield Elementary was nothing short of magic! 🖌️🌻 The our new friends jumped right in — painting colors and bringing so much joy to the garden bed designs.

This project, with creative direction from our Executive Director, with art designed by the talented @catherinerupanmapp and led on-site by artist @bmoresmug is already bursting with color and community energy. 💚💛💙

We’re blending creativity, culture, and connection right where it matters most..in the heart of the school garden. Stay tuned as these beds transform into living works of art!

Shaking it up! Students at Beechfield Elementary/Middle learned about maracas and their cultural roots for Hispanic Heritage Month — then made their own and formed an impromptu maraca band!

A Heartwarming Holiday Event Hosted by the Murphy Family Foundation

This Christmas, the Murphy Family Foundation was honored to host a special shopping spree at Target for some of Baltimore’s most deserving students from Beechfield Elementary, the Fred B. Recreation Center, and Edmondson Westside High School. These institutions have had a profound impact on CEO Jason Murphy’s life, shaping him as a young person growing up in Baltimore, and this event was a way to give back to the communities that helped him along the way. Each family received $200 to spend on gifts for their loved ones, ensuring a brighter holiday season for all. We were also thrilled to treat Mr. Chris Toney, head of the Fred B. Rec, and other school administrators to a shopping spree as a thank you for their tireless dedication to our youth. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Target, Joel Gamble, Brandon Copeland, and our generous donors for helping us spread love and joy throughout Baltimore City. We couldn’t do this without your continued support! #MurphyFamilyFoundation #CommunityLove #BaltimoreStrong #GivingBack #ChristmasSpirit #frombaltimorewithlove #murphys4

Can’t beat that ending 😂

What can I even say in this caption? The Bears got it together & they let me know wassup with their team & their feelings about being girl’s flag football players 🐻🏈😭✨

I talked to so many amazing coaches and girls within this LeeLeeKiddz league, and it was a time. I can’t thank them all enough - Kevin, Swapna, Coach Jeremiah and all the coaches, the parents & all the players. Especially the parents for allowing me to record and ask questions. (Internet safety is huge to me which is why I didn’t put the girls’ names or here)

Look out for that full episode droppin soon!
