repost from @touchecuts IF WE MAKE ALL 7 YOU GOTTA BOOK A FADE @franklinbarberinstitute1 we make sure our students SANITIZE!!!

.

People see the finished haircut. They see the fade. They see the lineup. What they don’t always see is the discipline behind the chair. At Franklin Barber College we make sure our students understand that being a great barber is not just about cutting hair. It’s about professionalism, responsibility, and respect for the craft.

Today we had some fun in class while going over one of the most important parts of barbering. Sanitization. Every student got hands on with their tools, their stations, and of course the legendary blue solution every barber knows. Barbicide is more than just something sitting on the counter. It represents standards, cleanliness, and protecting every client that sits in your chair.

At Franklin we teach our students the full process. From properly cleaning clippers and combs to understanding why sanitation is required in this industry. It’s part of preparing them not just to cut hair, but to pass the state board and build real careers.

Watching these students learn, laugh, and grow in the process reminds me why I love teaching. The classroom energy is always real. The conversations are real. And the progress is real.

Barbering is a skill, but it’s also a responsibility. And every day at Franklin Barber College we’re building barbers who respect the craft, respect their clients, and take pride in doing things the right way.

Sunday 8/24/25 Mr. & Mrs. Jemison, Jr. Owners of Franklin Institute will be celebrating 23 years of marriage 28 years together. We see alot of videos and pictures on social media celebrating or advertising graduates' growth. It makes it all worth it. Sometimes, feel like hanging up the shoes and selling our business off. But that would not be fair to our Great Grandparents, Grandparents, Parents, and also our kids, which are looking to continue the legacy created by people who didn't have it as easy as we do. Surviving Jim Crow Era, Segregation, Women's Rights, Back of the Bus, etc.A lott of NO'S to get to over 110 years of continued business. The best part of it all is that we do it together and share our love with our family. Shout out to all the married couples working together daily to accomplish your dreams. Love ❤️ Happy Anniversary!!!

As a new mom, you start to forget the simple things…
Like, “Wait… when was the last time I took a shower?” 😅

Now that I’ve been through that wild, beautiful, exhausting season, I try to show up for my new mom friends in the smallest ways—
Whether it’s bringing over food, holding the baby so they can nap, or just reminding them they’re doing an amazing job.

Because when a mom is well-rested and cared for, she can keep showing up for her little one with love and energy. 💛

✨Mamas, what are some things you forgot to do during that newborn stage?
✨And how do you like to support your fellow mom friends?
