Taking it back to September 🥰🍂

I read some PHENOMENAL novels this month and got to celebrate Grim Tidings & Doomsdate with @authorbkborison & @laurapiperlee hosted by @opendoorromancestl!

Decision paralysis is truly the enemy of my TBR & ratings, but I didn’t read a SINGLE novel under 4⭐️

If I was forced to choose my TOP read, I would only be able to narrow it down to Kiss Her Once for me by @alisoncochrun, My Best Friend’s Honeymoon by @merylwilsner, Zoe Brennan, First Crush by @laurapiperlee & Late Bloomer by @mazeyeddings. My skin is even itching after narrowing it down that much 🥲😂 (Truly, just add them all to your TBR!)

If you’re looking for an immaculate accidental pregnancy (bc I know I always am) pick up Make it a Double by @amberpalmerauthor & Sidelined Souls by @sarahabaileyauthor. Beckett & Archer are the biggest green flag MMCs I have ever read. 🙂‍↕️

Lastly, Suzanne Collins, when I catch you 🥲😭 That ending of SOTR felt like straight up retaliation for our thirsting over movie young Snow 🥲

Background 📷 on slide 2 & 3 are from a trip to the STUNNING @mobotgarden 🥰

September was a bit of a weird one for me honestly! I read a lot of good books and stuck to completing series right in a row more than I typically do. I FINALLY read @joannachambers_auth's Enlightenment series after @booksandhunny recommended it to me ages ago, and I was sucked into @allietherin's world of Empaths and Empath Hunters (uh, I mean, specialists...). But in my personal life things were crazy at work and I feel like all I had time to do was work, parent, and (thankfully!) read. Here's hoping I read more good books in October and that real life calms down some.

Please come chat with me about any of these books!

💌From Milwaukee With Love💌

A little over a week ago I took myself on a mini vacation to Milwaukee for the second annual “From Milwaukee With Love” event and “Meet Me on North Romance Book Crawl” sponsored by @thewellreddamsel and @mkebooksbeers!

On Friday I went to two author panels. The first was on starting the writing process and the second was on representation in romance. They were both great and I’m glad I came up early so I could attend! I had a wonderful lunch and great conversation with friends I made at the even last year (@_rhgallery_ and @authordallassmith). And I got to meet up with one of my besties, Michele (@opeanotherbook) for drinks and food along the river!
Saturday was Book Crawl day! We lined up early and made some friends while waiting which helped pass the time (while we attempted to avoid all the yellowjackets lol). Michele and I got to do most of the crawl in the morning and then volunteered for the second half. The crawl was so much fun and I loved being part of it again! Then more drinks and dinner at the Tiki bar!

Sunday was drag brunch and book bingo. The queens were FABULOUS!! And we made friends with two women who met through books just like us! Then I went to @thirstbooks and added to my book haul before heading home and had a fun conversation with the owner to well past closing time!

If you are ever in the area you need to go check out Well Red and Thirst. They are both owned by amazing humans, are adorable AF, and have tons of queer books!

It was a truly phenomenal weekend that filled my heart to overflowing!

Match my freak and tell me your drink combo! I personally feel this graphic is missing matcha 🍵 but if I had to choose (ew) I’d go B4H6.

All known and taggable accounts are - if I missed one please tell me so I can credit them appropriately!

One of my goals this year is to get back in the swing of reading for fun, not just for work/school. @partnersincrimebookshop has been so key to making that happen, not just in supplying books but also by hosting two book clubs I’ve loved reading with. This latest read, “For the Bride,” was for the Read Gay, Do Crime Book Club, and the author, @beegriz, even stopped by during last night’s meeting! Thank you, Amanda and Jeff, for creating such a cozy, lovely space to meet new people and talk books.

Mid-month Sapphic September TBR update 👯‍♀️🙂‍↕️

I had way too many books to choose from on my shelves, so I selected 6 physical and 6 audio sapphic romance books for my September tbr!

All of the completed reads have been 5 ⭐️, no doubt. My Best Friend’s Honeymoon & Late Bloomer have been tied for my favorite so far! 🥰

Considering 3 of the 4 completed so far have been physical reads I feel (moderately) confident that I’ll get to all of these before the end of the month 🤷🏼‍♀️

👀 What was your most recent 5⭐️ sapphic romance? 👀
