Most mornings start the same. Getting myself ready, getting the boys sorted, making sure everyone has what they need, and then switching gears into business mode.

Some days feel productive. Some days feel slow. But every little step counts.

This season has taught me that building something of your own doesn’t always look glamorous. Sometimes it’s school runs, snack breaks, housework, and squeezing work into the pockets of time you can find. But it’s also growth, purpose, and the joy of creating something for your future.

A little glimpse into my life right now.

The days are full.
Some days feel long.
Some days feel productive.
Some days feel like I’m being stretched in every direction 😅.

Right now, I’m raising my children, building my lash business, and doing my best with what I have in front of me.

I’m learning that not every season is meant to be comfortable. Some seasons are for growing. Some seasons are for planting.

And I believe the hard work I’m putting in today will become the answered prayers of tomorrow.

So for now, I’ll keep showing up, because this is just a season.

Career Break Diaries | working, just differently

If I’m honest, in a perfect world, I probably wouldn’t want to work at all right now I’d just soak in this season with my family but in this economy, having an income isn’t optional and that’s just the reality for so many of us

so this season for me looks like learning how to balance both building something of my own while still being present at home. and I won’t lie, it’s not always easy
but I’m so grateful for the flexibility. to plan my time, to choose when I show up, and to not feel pulled in a hundred different directions

it’s different, but it works for us

Career Break Diaries | Spend a Day With Me

Business has been a little slow lately, and I have had to be honest with myself about why.

When you are building a lash business from home, quiet days do not always mean nothing is happening. Sometimes those are the days you plan, create content, and work on the things that will help your business grow.

Lately I have been focusing on creating quality lash content so people can actually see my work and build trust in what I offer.

The truth is, I do not know yet if my lash business will replace my 9 to 5, but I am showing up, doing my best, and learning as I go.

Career Break Diaries | Building my lash business

This footage was recorded at the very start of my career break, when I decided to put myself out there a little more and commit properly to my lash business.

Stepping away from social work wasn’t easy, and this season is still very much a journey. I’m learning as I go, showing up, and slowly building confidence in something I love.

Balancing motherhood, work, and home life looks different now, but I’m learning to trust the process and take each day as it comes.

Married to an amazing husband and mum to three boys. Life is busy, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I’m a worship leader and choir leader, and I’m grateful to be able to use my gift to serve God.

I’m a social worker, currently on a career break and due to return this year. I took some time off to focus on my family and my business.

I am running my lash business and creating content about motherhood, lifestyle, selfcare and everyday life.

Life is busy, but I still try to prioritise looking good. Whether it’s makeup, self-care, or little moments for me, it makes a huge difference to how I feel.

I love tea 😄 – it’s my little daily moment of peace.

I also love to travel – we enjoy family holidays and the occasional getaway with hubby.
