Some BEEautiful shots from @beeonethird ‘s urban hives 🐝

I’ve been wanting to document and share this for a while, so I was pretty excited to finally spend some time with Bee One Third and their urban beekeeping project in Australia.

I loved getting to see the hive up close and watch the process of checking and maintaining the colony. There’s something so captivating about watching thousands of bees going about their business, and I was surprised by just how gentle they were throughout the whole process. No one stung me and for the most part they were surprisingly disinterested in me. Even when I got to try the honey straight from the comb which was a pretty special bonus!

Projects like this are a great reminder that cities can be important spaces for pollinators. Bees do so much more than make delicious honey, they play a huge role in keeping our ecosystems healthy. It’s so cool to see urban beekeeping projects creating space for them to thrive right in the thick of it!

I haven’t posted anything for a while so there may be some backlog of our new life on the farm filled with what I love.

I guess I’ve been in two minds about sharing on social media as it’s all too consuming, not to mention AI and its way of making people feel vulnerable of what it could do. Or maybe I’m also slowly coming out of my shell…finally, being a Cancer I’m not sure if I ever will, but something has shifted, tides have turned.

I much prefer the old analogue way of being, so come over for a cuppa anytime, we have a nice coffee machine and have been practicing our latte art. I’ve been doing some mean kidney beans of late @samuelbain and have even better beans thanks to @imyourcoffeeboy

But this was this morning and I love everything about how this little dude of mine shines so brightly. They both do. How cool are Z’s pants from our gorgeous local boutique @circabyronbay! So more of that. 💛
