Something about me is that I loveeee cotton on. It’s sort of the perfect shop. You walk in and you aren’t even thinking about floral bike shorts or a matching tennis skirt and sports bra or a tote bag with strawberries on it and then you leave and you’re like…. Suddenly all I want is a matching tennis outfit despite the fact I have not picked up a racquet in like 5 years. It has a calm zen feeling unlike glassons (loud music and you have to ask to be let into a changing room) and I love how they have everything neatly arranged in like 10 different colourways. Don’t even get me started on the local cotton on body outlet store. I was in there today and it was amazing. The organisation is not there and everything is cramped into half the space and it’s sort of threatening and anarchic and at the back there are like these giant vats of random underwear for like $3 each and this is my favourite part. It is like a lucky dip! Will I pull out an ideal pair of underwear in my size or will I pull out an xxl magenta thong???!!! You never know!! I must be a millionaire in cotton on points by now. I’m kicking myself because I got a bikini from there just the other day on Black Friday (Whole other story but I read the wind up bird chronicle earlier this year and in one scene May Kasahara is described as sitting in her backyard wearing a brown bikini and during this era I was completely obsessed with murakami i sort of still am so I made it this personal mission to buy a brown bikini LOL and literally u would not believe how hard it is to find a decent one for an ok price (I do not go swimming enough to buy an expensive one) especially because I literally HATE having my ass out so so much so I need to find bikinis that cover up my bum as much as possible because oh my god I hate it being out cover cover cover 🤬🤬 anyway I managed to find the exact bikini I wanted in my size at my local cotton on on Black Friday) and I was in a rush so I declined when the shop assistant asked if I wanted credit on my cotton on account. I could literally be like 10 points richer. Is everything in the store made by a child slave? Yes. But there’s no ethical consumption under capitalism anyway…
