Mount Baldy Ski Hut Fall Work Pary 2026
.
I wanted to share this past weekend, we had an amazing group who came up to the Ski Hut to help do maintenance to keep the ski hut in great conditions for you to enjoy while your hiking up the Ski Hut trail.
.
Rain 🌧️ or shine🌞, they showed up!! We 🧼 cleaned walls, cabinets, painted 🎨 , fixed windows 🪟, chopped 🪵 wood, collected pine 🌲 needles, cleared the area from extra debris to name a few things.
.
Wanted to thank our Chairman Gil Estrada, Ski Hut committee members and all the volunteers. We can’t do this without your help. It was a pleasure spending time with you on yet another successful work party. Was special to see great wildlife 🐻 🦌.

Haul to the Top. On the afternoon of Friday, September 4th, 37 humans assembled to carry 600 bottles of water to the summit of Mt San Antonio (Mt Baldy) in support of Monday’s Run to the Top. This is the 4th consecutive year we have carried water to the top in support of the runners and our group is growing every year. Several repeat faces, several new faces and a whole lot of fun. Thanks to Missy Ellingson and @beerhiker for the assistance in coordinating this event and R&S Litho for the great souvenir mugs. Till next year. #haultothetop #runtothetop #mtbaldy #mtsanantonio

Team Baldy Brigade ~ Climb for Heroes 🥾🩷⛰️🇺🇸
.
2025 ~ Another year supporting Climb for Heroes, although I did register, I was not able to complete the hike due to other commitments, I still went this am to support my team.
.
Since 2013, The Heroes Project has hosted Climb for Heroes on our local training grounds, Mt. Baldy, California. It’s a great way to support our Vets and hike with your friends and families.
.
The Heroes Project- Every dollar helps build the first-of-its-kind Veteran Retreat Center in Mt. Baldy, CA, and powers transformative programs and expeditions that empower injured veterans to reclaim their strength, independence, and warrior spirit in the great outdoors. They have broken ground, check it out next time you are near Ice House Canyon.

Mt Baldy Ski Hut work party was a success!!! ⛰️🥾✌️💗
.
We are so happy to be back open and have a work party, Yep, the hut got a new paint 🎨, outhouse some repairs, wood chopped, a new bench out front was made as well and cleaned the inside. It really takes a village to maintain this hut and for all the hikers who pass though. Special thanks to our chair @thegilski for organizing these work parties. Thanks @rafterdan @natebaggslol @golbazarya @beerhiker @sunset4dd for all you do for the Ski Hut. We are so blessed to be here 🥰 Thanks to everyone who showed up and made this a successful work party!

I went back to visit some of my friends in California and am really happy with all I could see. Everyone doing better on their crafts. Some are doing so well that they moved to Paradise. Love you all. Thank you for your time and love. #california #mtbaldy #mtbaldylodge #goodfood #skatebording #ethosjiujitsu #leonjiujitsu

We had a day! A MinieBros hike to Cucamonga Peak that started with some car troubles making our 6am scheduled start time turn into a 730am start. Next we met @lp.lupe.me on trail, a surprise to see him outside of my local “training” hike territory. So good to see him in the wild (of course hiking with beautiful ladies, as always). It was Lupe’s first hike in the Cucamonga Wilderness and by his account he “loved it!”
The bros made our summit and found a shady spot for lunch and a call (yes, a call) to mom from this 8858’ peak. We’re sure she was proud to have the boys call her from such an adventurous locale!
The finish to today’s hike was certainly the highlight! I finally got @westvalmin to go into Baldy Village with me and pay a visit to the local tavern, The Baldy Lodge. Here, he met the “Mayor of Mt Baldy,” Pavel, who proceeded to get us all stewed on the local brew. Who the hell drinks 4 pitchers of anything called Hazy IPA?? Well, apparently we do!
Pavel made our day! As I’ve had the chance now more than once to make his acquaintance it’s always a great time!
Of course, I just had to reenact the infamous “feed the moose” a pitcher of beer photo op Pavel helped to create with me and @gumbyonthetrail more than a year ago!
Another great adventure is in the books! We count this as summit #10 this year for Steve. Scott is off the charts now but still happy to get as many summits as possible for his comrades!
Check us again soon for more shenanigans!
