If your attention span isn’t completely obliterated, please, read on 😌

✨ I am desirous of publicly calling out @locdbyliv for helping me reconnect with my ROOTS. There’s a pun here, just wait. Liv is the first person to work on my dreadlocks since I started them ~8 years ago. As an afro-Brazilian with a mother whose hair is significantly different, “hair trauma” was a visceral part of my upbringing. African Americans have had a longstanding connection to their hair, with knowledge beings passed down by many generations, and there is a safety in that despite straight hair types being seen as preferable by the general population. Racism in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil is similar to America with the difference being that women of color are usually bullied into straightening their hair - to this day, my mom begs me to let her pay for me to remove my dreads and get a keratin treatment. There are places like Bahia where dreadlocks and kinky hair are common, but it’s pretty centralized. So anyyywaayysss, growing up in the united states was alienating. I never wanted to be called “black” because I wanted to be recognized as “Brasilian”. My hair quality was usually a mess. Recognizing my own internalized racism against my own people has been a wild journey - and smth I may share here in future… So thank you Fairy Loc Mother, for letting me ask personal questions about your Jamaican heritage and for giving kindness to my ignorance while you loved on my crown. You do much more than just hair.

Back from the Florida Renaissance Festival 2026 loved it!

The rain or come shine the days that I went. I had so much fun.

Got to share it with some of my favorite people-and even better, watching some of them be the magic as performers made it hit worth while! Like

🎭 National Theater Day 🎭

Theater shaped the way I tell stories, on stage and beyond.

From shows like @rockyhorrorbway , @damnyankeesbroadway , @bwaygodspell , and @chicagomusical to everything I create today, it all started here.

Looking back, I see that through my love for theater, I gained lifelong friends and unforgettable memories.

Grateful for the teachers and mentors who paved the way, pushed me to grow, and believed in me before I fully did.

Support your local theater—and keep telling stories that matter.
