Are you an “OMG it’s already Thursday?” or an “UGH it’s only Thursday!” person?

I do both. Today it’s ALREADY Thursday for me…we still have so much stuff to box up!! Less than a week till moving day…

We did end up selling the bookcases to the buyers and I’m looking a corner Billy set up (basic, remember?!)

Threads this week, was of course, FULL of big word takes, algae one liners and of course my favorite random profoundness …enjoy some of my faves!

Have a great rest of your week…Love ya, mean it!

New covers! The North Ridge Series by @authorhalle 🖤

Review: Wild Card by Karina Halle

As the 1st book in the North Ridge Trilogy about the Nelson Brothers, this second chance romance pulls you in at the very beginning with its breadth of emotions (that are so well written), causing your heart to break and mend right up until the end. The main characters, Shane and Rachel, were friends at a young age, and it was lovely witnessing their relationship grow in those 11 years. Overall this was a beautiful and emotional story with horrible truths, but all the wish references were very cute and made me teary eyed. I’ve mentioned this before but Karina is very talented, and it’s wonderful when authors can diversify. This book has so much heart, and the touching moments juxtaposed with the hardships, pulled your heartstrings around until the end.

🍀Second Chance Romance
🍀Friends to Lovers

“Rough, raw & rugged.
As the man in charge at Ravenswood Ranch, Shane Nelson has never been afraid to get his hands dirty. His sculpted physique isn’t the product of a gym, but of years of hard labor under a relentless sun. His straightforward, alpha tendencies come from a man who knows what he wants and goes after it.
And what he wants is Rachel Waters.
He’s never stopped wanting her.
They were childhood best friends, then teenage lovers who evolved into soulmates. But on one fateful night, Shane made a grave mistake, breaking both their hearts in the process.
Now, after six years, Rachel is back in the small, wild mountain town of North Ridge, BC.
Ready to face her past.
Ready to face Shane.
Ready to face his dark secret.
But is a second-chance at a one true love in the cards? Or will their wild hearts be broken once again?”

✨ ᴘᴜʙ ᴅᴀʏ + ᴀʀᴄ ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡ✨

Happy Pub day to Neverthorn by @authorshannonmayer ✨

This has been such a highly anticipated book and I already cannot freaking wait for book 2 after that ending. Harlow is such a fun FMC, I found myself relating to her more often than not which is an immediate win for me! Neverthorn really dives into some much loved tropes like second chances (at life and love), dark academia and a mysterious villain that may or may not have ties to the FMC. The book has a healthy dose of humor while also tackling some heavier elements like mental health, trauma/grief and the weight of past mistakes.

Perhaps one of the things that has stuck with me most is the fact characters are older and life worn, but are given the room to grow. This is a coming of age, but later in life after you have lived, learned, failed and gotten back up again. The romance here is slooow burn, filled with tension and angst and a bit open ended - I have a tiny feeling that this will either become a why choose OR the MMC is not the true love interest.

Q: Have you finished your house quiz yet? Which did you get if so?!

The Hollow Gods & The Echoed Realm
The Chaos Cycle Duology by @a.j.vrana

A town rich in legends and shrouded in paranormal secrets—count me in!

This captivating and intricate narrative unfolds as an urban fantasy, reminiscent of a modern fairy tale. It contains darkness, vanishing girls, shape-shifting, and the divine. The story is thoroughly engaging, and I am very addicted to Vranas’ writing style, which is bold, witty, and infused with a delightful dose of sarcasm.

Tethered by @authorelaynargallea

🩸Dual POV
Arranged Marriage
🩸Vampire/Human
Shadow Daddy Cinnamon Roll
🩸He Falls First
Where Is My Wife?
🩸Touch Her & ☠️

This features many of my favorite tropes, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has a charming, gripping, and poetic quality. I have a particular fondness for dark vampire characters with a gentle side. The dialogue between the characters was delightful, and I appreciated their evolving journey of love.

A perfect little spooky Summer read!

Congrats the new exciting news last week @authorelaynargallea!

Ok. I’ve had my coffee ☕️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Five star read for me! I’ve already ordered my shelf trophy and know I’ll be curling up with this for a comfort read later.
🌶️🌶️.5 - 2.5 Spicy peppers for me! Nothing crazy detailed, but there was yearning and lots of flirtatious tension that had me giddy like a school girl. Lots of fun playful banter! Perfect amount of romance elements to not take away from our story 👌

The Scars Within by author @angtdalton follows Scarlet - AKA Scar, who attends Mageia War College and finds herself stuck in a love triangle with twin brothers - Rhodes and Shayde. These two MMC’s are different from one another, both hiding secrets that neither knows. Maps aren’t allowed at the college, their history books seem to be lacking, the halls are full of secrets… not everything is as it seems at Mageia.

Scar holds forbidden magic, has a dragon with no memories, and is being hunted from within the college. The plot twists kept me on my toes.. if you think you know what’s going on, trust me you don’t. The ending was epic and I cannot wait for book 2.

This book totally surprised me in the best way. I wasn’t ready for it but am so glad I decided to pick it up!

🔹 Elemental magic & dragons
🔹 War college
🔹 Twin brothers-dragon riders/fire wielders
🔹 Slow-burn romance with love triangle and forced proximity
🔹 Found family vibes and woman friendship
🔹 Secret POV
🔹 Mental health representation

Happy (Re)Release day to Breaking Through by @l.e.wagensveld ✨ This is book 2 in The Stevenson Series and is a sweet, slow burn, Canadian small town based friends to lovers. Perfect for that feel good summer read!

What’s your favorite romance trope?

𝚂𝚘𝚖𝚎𝚝𝚒𝚖𝚎𝚜 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚏𝚎𝚌𝚝 𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚘𝚗 𝚒𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞’𝚟𝚎 𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚕𝚘𝚘𝚔𝚎𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚠𝚑𝚘𝚕𝚎 𝚕𝚒𝚏𝚎…

Loving Charlotte Baker isn’t new for Sam Stevenson; knowing she tastes like rich wine and sounds like heaven when he kisses her, however, is, and now he can’t forget. Sam never intended to act on his decade-and-then-some crush on Charlotte; he is used to living with the heartache of knowing he will never have her. Weddings are dangerous places, though, and intoxicated in more ways than one, Sam lets his resolve slip.
Charlotte grew up as part of the Stevenson clan, and sweet, introverted Sam, with his love for comic books and all things nerdy, has always held a special place in her heart. But when Sam unexpectedly kisses her the night of his brother’s wedding, there’s nothing familial about it. While Charlotte struggles with the secrets that come to light in the wake of their unexpected kiss, she almost loses Sam to forces outside her control.
Friends may make the best lovers, but it isn’t until their meddling family gets involved that Sam and Charlotte are forced to confront their feelings, and each other. They say friends make the best lovers, but are they willing to risk what was to explore what could be?

Breaking Down (book 1) and Breaking through are available on KU, ebook and paperback!

Book 3 is coming July 11 🙌🏻
