It may have been 80 degrees yesterday - just perfect for a country boy like John Denver! I’ve since learned this is one of the earliest established boulders in Rocklands. Ten years I have thrown myself at this boulder. So many attempts, so many almost’s😅. This weekend, surrounded by an unreasonably wonderful group of humans, it finally went🙌🏼
Did I get better?
Maybe. But what I realized is that every single time I’ve been on this boulder, I had a crew around me: spotting, cheering, trying together. That’s the part I want to highlight: how incredible this community is. Just listening to how it sounds while you’re climbing... it’s special beyond words ♥️ That sound IS “the send” in my life.

Girl on our Mind, 6B+, thank you for the journey, and for teaching me what really matters. Belief is apparently a group sport. Who knew. Life is a journey, and the company is the best part of it ❤️

We did it! We raised R16,000 which got Fienie a new tumble dryer AND a new washing machine!

Thank you everyone for all your love in supporting this local community project!

Dinah ‘Fienie’ Farmer is a local to the Cederberg that has been living in the Rocklands valley for the past 40 years. The way she supports herself and her family is by doing laundry for the people that visit Rocklands.

Her main source of income is during the rock climbing season in winter. As she relies on the sun and the wind to dry the clothes, she can not keep up with demand especially when its raining and therefore loses out on business.

For these reasons we are asking your help in donating money towards a tumble dryer so that she can keep up with demand and not lose any potential clients. We are aiming to raise R10 000 - @backabuddy link in bio.

If someone or a group of people donate a large some of money or would like to donate a tumble dryer then I would be happy to trade exchange some photos during one of your climbing sessions this season or the next and Finnie would like to offer a few loads of laundry as thanks.

If a tumble dryer is donated and we have already raised funds, this money will go to the next community project.

Fell in love with the rocks last week at @rocklands_highline_fest 🪨🤘🤍 the sunsets with spider-people and night-climbing was super visually stimulating. I miss it already. This is but 20/1000 📸

Im starting to wrap up some of the 2025 season videos. Many projects are still in motion, some haven’t been started yet, some are fully graded but need titles still… but I’m loving it and feeling kinda proud for continuing towards the vision 💡

Im not really going in any particular order, it’s a kinda everywhere all at once type show.

A big goal of mine is to be making some kind of financial gain off of YouTube within the next year which will help me fund the vision for RVD which stands for so many things now. Please show some love by sharing these videos and following me on YouTube. Link in my bio 🤟🏻🦕
