UGLY MV for @dolla.official - Almost half a year after the last DOLLA project was taken down, Andrew came to me one day in July: “Want to do another DOLLA MV? Let’s make it big & bring it back to Malaysian culture with a twist.” That conversation led us to Mahsuri’s legend, a story of false accusation & a curse said to bring 7 gen of misfortune. Through DOLLA’s lens, we reimagined it as 3 misunderstood women reclaiming their power & rewriting their endings. Everything was shot in one long day, moving between forest, rumah kampung, makeshift blue sceeen, from hot sun to a night in the forest battling mosquitoes, then came roughly 100 VFX and 3D shots, with just over a month + for post. The line between “creator camera” and “cinema camera” is getting REALLY blurry👀 At a recent Sony event hosted by @2117_rentals and @alphauniversemy , we got to see the new FX5 go head-to-head with the VENICE 2: including a side-by-side comparison and a colour-matching demo. And honestly? The footage was surprisingly close. But that doesn’t mean the FX5 is suddenly a VENICE 2. The bigger takeaway is how much more capable smaller cinema cameras are becoming, and how accessible that level of image quality is getting for creators. The camera gap is closing. So the real question becomes: How much camera do you actually need? Follow @setup.my if you want to stay ahead of the cameras, gear, AI tools and tech shaping how creators work.

(Colorist of Film Troop Post) - Ashraff Mokhtar (Command Shift Sdn Bhd Co-Founder & Film Director) In this session, they will be sharing their professional and creative journeys and experiences in the film, media, and performing arts industries and communities since graduating from the Diploma in Performing Arts and the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Digital Film Production. The Open Space series curated by the Department of Film & Theatre encourages interdisciplinary discussion and engagement for Sunway-U’s FASS’ staff, students and interested members of the public about the creative industry and creative art practices where industry practitioners, artists, and academic faculty are able to share their expertise and experience in an open forum or workshop setting. This series supports two of FASS’ pillars of Interdisciplinarity and Proficiency in the professional and academic field of the creative arts and industries.
