Every room transformation starts with a vision, and for Lia’s bedroom, colour was one of the first decisions we made.

I wanted to create a space that felt soft and calming, but still had a little personality. Something she could enjoy now and continue to love as she grows.

We chose two beautiful shades from BEHR:
• Fanciful (M560-2) — a soft lavender for the walls.
• Napa Winery (M560-6) — a deeper, muted purple to bring contrast and character to the doors.

I love how these two shades complement each other. One brings softness, while the other adds just enough depth.

Sometimes, choosing the right colour combination is what makes the whole design start to come together.

An office and a home gym, all in one space. I had a vision for this corner of our basement, and seeing it finally come together is so satisfying.

We went with BEHR MARQUEE Interior Matte in Grounded, BEHR’s 2027 Colour of the Year, and I couldn’t love it more. The rich, earthy tone paired with the natural wood brings exactly the warmth and depth I wanted.

Proof that a little colour can completely transform a space.

Which detail is your favourite?

Congratulations to @veithhouse, who is the recipient of my Paint it Forward program this year! They received a free mural in their space, celebrating the good they do for the community.

For more than 50 years, Veith House has offered community programs in Halifax, including newcomer and youth programs, urban gardening, social work, and community events.

We gathered input from their staff and members, and one thing stood out: people come here to feel like they belong. We included lots of little nods to what makes them so special: Mimi (aka Oreo, Cookie, Christine), the neighbourhood cat who visits often, the chickens of the on-site coop, and this summer’s release of the Monarch butterflies, among others.

Thank you, Veith House, for all the good you do in our community! 🩷

And thank you to @behrcanada, our official paint sponsor of Paint it Forward 2026

AND big thank you to @lubamagnus of Laughadil Productions for the wonderful work bringing the mural to life with this video 🎥

The render is cute. The reality? That’s a different budget 👏🏽

How much do you think it would be? 👀

Oh my gosh I’m so happy this project (phase 1) is done!! 👏🏻

Although we still need to stain the detached garage - this is the biggest surface with the most windows and doors!

I could definitely use your help if I should paint the window frames black or sage green … I keep flip-flopping back-and-forth 🤦🏻‍♀️ Also, do you think I should paint the mortar a subtle grey? I feel like that’s a huge commitment, but maybe if I have more time in a couple years.
