🔔 So...this is NOT everything I ate in Philly, just some highlights 😝
(I did eat a cheese steak from Angelo's, but we failed to take a pic prior to devouring it)

Roast pork sandwich. My gosh, everything was so soft and flavorful!

Tons of mussels, came with fries

This place has a bar option, and then a dining room option where you need to make reservations for. For the dining room option, the number of items you can select from the set price depends on how many in your party. For a party of two, it was four seafood entrees and one side dish.

⚠️ DO NOT HAVE BIG PLANS after this meal. 😂 You will be full with the deliciousness of butter and cream!

Cocktail bar with small food menu

First time I had a scrapple!

Pastrami egg and cheese sandwich with latke'd hashbrowns and dill pick cream sauce situation. The eggs were soooo fluffy.

Lamb neck birria. Not pictured: tuna tostada, swordfish tacos, pulpo (small serving), and churros. ALL were delicious. I would go back to eat just their 6lbs pulpo.

Got my apple cider donut ♥️

Chicken kebab. We did the chef's counter option that includes five appetizers and one entree. Their chai latte is phenomenal.

A cocktail that has aged coconut rum, white rum, melon liquer, pandan coconut water, bitter bianco, and salt. Yes you keep the frog. 😂 The cocktails were so good that we went back a second time!

Donut Review - Memory Lane and the best donut in Philly. This post is especially special to me.

Last week I made a quick trip to Philadelphia with Kristi for a little reunion tour and a pretty special moment with some dear friends from my past.

But first…the donuts!

We stayed in downtown Philly and made sure we were only a block from Reading Terminal Market. Not only is the place packed with incredible food, but it also happens to be home to one of the best donuts in the city: Beiler’s!

We stopped for a caramel cream donut, and it was absolutely stunning. The cream was pumped in fresh on the spot and the caramel was overflowing. I’m fairly confident it gave me a cavity, but some things are worth the dental work.

And the choices! Caramel apple, maple bacon, matcha crème, and about 47 other reasons to make bad decisions.

Usually when I travel, I try to hit multiple donut shops. Not this time. I just kept going back to Beiler’s. No reason to mess up a great thing.

But as good as the donuts were, they weren’t the best part of this trip.

I also got to go back to my old university. And somehow, after all these years, I ended up back in the president’s office. Thankfully, this visit was much more cordial than the ones I remember from the ’90s.

My 1996 soccer team was being inducted into the Hall of Fame, and they invited us back to be honored together.

I didn’t realize how much I missed those guys until I saw them again.

Thirty years later, we laughed at the same stories, remembered the same moments, and picked right back up like we hadn’t missed a beat. It felt like a tiny glimpse of the Kingdom to come—old friends reunited, stories retold, and the joy of being together again.

They honored us with cheesesteaks, a Phillies game, and a long walk down memory lane.

It was an amazing weekend with my wife, a bunch of really great friends, and Philly’s best donut.

Hard to beat that.

Every time I find myself in Philly, I also find myself never wanting to leave 🤍

We started with cheesesteaks, went shopping in Passyunk, stopped at Reading Terminal Market, walked around Rittenhouse Square, grabbed drinks at the Uptown Beer Garden, ordered dinner from Del Rossi’s, got 1 900 Ice Cream and even made a stop at the Eagles Pro Shop — because apparently we believe in doing the absolute most 🦅 And while I didn’t get there during this trip, I would also highly recommend visiting the Eastern State Penitentiary. It’s really such a cool place with so much history to learn.

Philadelphia is such a fun city for a day trip because every neighborhood feels a little different, there are so many great places to eat, and the people are honestly part of the experience 🫶🏻 I don’t think I went anywhere that day without bumping into somebody I vibed with.

I’m already planning my next visit, so if you have recommendations for where to eat or what to do in next, drop them below 👇🏻

Now that it’s fall, I can FINALLY go to my favorite apple picking spot in Philly!

Huge thanks to @iovinebrothersproduce, @oldcitycoffee, @beilersdoughnuts, and everyone at Reading Terminal Market for playing along ❤️

[Video description: A video of Philly goddess Marta Rusek eagerly walking to her favorite apple picking spot…Reading Terminal Market! She can barely contain her excitement at seeing all the apples to “pick” at Iovine’s. She also grabs a hot apple cider with whipped cream at Old City Coffee, as well as apple cider donuts and apple fritters at Beiler’s. She sits down in the seating area in the Arch Street corner of Reading Terminal and happily sips her cider and eats an apple cider jawn. This is the kind of apple picking I look forward to in the fall!]

Every family needs a meaningful travel tradition.

Ours just happens to involve an unreasonable amount of fried dough. 😂🍩

Somewhere along the way, finding the best donut became a requirement in basically every city we visit.

And we take our research VERY seriously.

Different cities. Different countries. Different flavors. All in pursuit of one very important question:

Who actually makes the world’s best donut?

We haven’t reached a definitive conclusion yet, which obviously means we’ll need to continue traveling extensively for research purposes. It’s a sacrifice we’re willing to make. 😂✈️

Now I need to know: Where have you had the BEST donut of your life? Tell us the city AND the shop because our research list clearly needs to grow. 👇🍩

And if you want our favorite donut stops from our travels, comment DONUT below or DM us DONUT and I’ll send you our recommendations. 🍩✈️

Follow @sansbury_adventures as we continue our completely legitimate worldwide donut research… and squeeze in a few family adventures along the way. ❤️

Everyone's got a "fall in Philly" list. This is mine. The one I actually do, every single year.

🧺 Early Evening Candlelit picnic at Mario Lanza Park: tablecloth, real plates, a bottle of something. Instant date night, zero reservation needed.

🌇 Sunset at Bok Bar: the skyline view that is the BEST in the city — and it closes mid-October, so don't sleep on this one.

🎨 Golden hour at Calder Gardens: new, quiet, and criminally underrated right now. Watch the sunset relect on the windows

🍷 Happy hour crawl, Queen Village style: Malbec → Samuel Gritz → Side Eye. Under a mile, three totally different vibes, zero driving.

🍁 Foliage on the Wissahickon: quiet and beautiful - bring your camera.

🍩 Apple fritters from Beiler's: warm it up, add vanilla ice cream. Don't argue with me, just try it.

🌅 Sunrise on the Delaware: the river does something to the light that no filter can fake. Go before 7am. (📸 Pier Tom)

Start your morning off right in Lancaster by hitting all 3 of these places right near Franklin and Marshall College!

Good news for you, they are all RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER! 😁

Start off by grabbing breakfast from Savoy Truffle! Breakfast Hoagie??? Try a bacon, egg, cheese, tater tots, aioli, spread on a Liscio's Roll! 🤤🍳🥓

Next, get your coffee fix in at Mean Cup! We are traditional, Marissa loves her Salted Caramel Iced Coffee! 🧊☕️

Finally, what is a morning without famous Beiler's doughnuts. If you follow Keystone Foodie, you know we think Beiler's is arguably the top doughnut in Lancaster County! 🍩 We always recommend the chocolate peanut butter doughnut and the salted caramel doughnut. If you are an adventerous doughnut expert, get the always delicious apple fritter! 🍎

Is there a more perfect way to start off your day in the Red Rose City? 🌹
