This is for everyone who kept questioning Zayb and Esra.

I always gave Zayb the benefit of the doubt when it came to Esra, because I genuinely felt Esra’s loyalty was something he could never simply disregard. She is too pure-hearted to fit into one label. Yet she was reduced to one word — badtameezi — while everything beyond that was conveniently ignored.

Zayb, in his own way, helped her. He tried to bring out her softer, positive side, and she acknowledged that. Whatever happened between them, they are friends — friends fight, argue, misunderstand each other. That doesn’t erase everything that existed between them.

But this is exactly why I keep saying: READ BEYOND THE NARRATIVE.

We misunderstood one person, and he is already out of the house. Please don’t make the same mistake with the second person who remains.

Esra is not someone who can fake emotions, manipulate people or play calculated mind games simply for her own benefit. And if you have watched closely, you know who repeatedly tried to create cracks, spoke behind their backs, and twisted situations around them. Some masks were eventually taken off; some didn’t even bother hiding anymore.

Don’t let strategic narratives make you overlook what you can see for yourself.

I always felt Zayb was too complicated, too diplomatic, and perhaps too difficult for the average viewer to comprehend. Maybe that is why so many people misread him.

He was one prey of the narrative. Don’t let Esra become another.
