Pongo fin a mi primera carrera @machupicchuepic .

💚 Viva Peru! 🇵🇪

This summer, I decided to level UP! On the mountain bike. Literally and figuratively. It started with signing up for the daunting Firecracker 50 race in Breckenridge, Colorado. The classic mountain bike race that starts in the town’s festive 4th of July parade. 50 miles and 7k feet of elevation gain. Two 25 mile loops. Lotta badasses from my MTB team @noridearound have killed it in this race, and I wanted to do the same!
How to prepare? Riding, racing, continuing to get out there and ride, longer, harder? Pretty good, sure. But I knew…for a race like this….I needed to do a LOT more.
So I signed up for mountain bike boot camp with @dawntoduskmtb that advertises “not your weekend warriors with a beer in the parking lot after a casual 8 mile loop”. When you sign up, you are expected to ride like you are racing, push hard, workout, and dig deep in your soul to figure who you are and why you are there.
Did I survive? Yes. Did I find camaraderie with others? Yes! Did I push myself like never before? For sure! Did I have fun?! The best! Did I ride fast and carry my bike across a river, while experiencing the most amazing natural beauty and wonder that Colorado can provide? Definitely! And most importantly - did I get better?!
I believe so…but the big race was still to come….
So this past Monday, I raced as a duo with our fearless NoRA leader and founder of D2D, Justin Holle. (who believed in me…after all, I did survive his camp 😛)
He smoked his lap, like the pro MTB racer that he is, and I raced the second lap like never before! Finished strong! Lot of PRs (for you Strava junkies)
The joy and accomplishment that came from all the hard work - wow - full of gratitude. Mind, Body. Community. ❤️ Kicking ass!
And Mom was with me, cheering me on, every pedal of the way. 🥰

If you want to get better at mountain biking, have fun, and be a badass - head over to www.dawntoduskmtb.com
Do it!

And to be an athlete on the bike, requires a solid fitness regimen off the bike. Thanks to Denver based @e3fitness for all the years of training that got me out there in the first place!
